Grand well furnished bedroom and spacious bathroom. Close to station

I read a listing describing the property as an apartment and included a communal kitchen with toaster. Instructions provided made little mention of the kitchen only in respect that you can leave your bags in it for a £5 each bag! and there was no toaster. We were only there from 6pm to 9am so didn't contact the help nos provided but better instructions would have been appreciated. The very light coloured carpets on the steep stairs and in the main room are not too practical and obviously are a concern to the owner.

It is located close to the train station. The bed is comfortable.

Overall, my stay was disappointing due to several issues with the property and the host. The property was difficult to find because the address provided in the booking confirmation did not match the actual location. The accommodation is on a parallel side street, so you need to rely on instructions sent via text message to locate it. Only one bath towel was provided for two guests, and although I requested additional towels upon arrival, the host didn’t respond until after check-out. Tea was stored unhygienically in a shared jar with stained bags. Initially, the host was very apologetic and forthcoming, offering a partial refund. However, I never received it. After two weeks, I contacted Booking.com, and the host falsely claimed that I had lied in my complaint. To make matters worse, the host then messaged my personal phone, expressing disappointment that I had raised the issue.

The host made the accommodation very welcoming by putting on the lights for when we arrived. There was fresh water and milk in the fridge and aray of jams with tea and coffee. The accommodation was beautiful with a quirky layout comfort, welcoming and of course very clean. Ideally located near the train station and a stone throw from the high.
