Location and building. Excellent car park Comfortable room.

Fire alarm at 3 am. No staff intervention.. a guest had to call the fire brigade - no roll call of guests standing outside. Hotel emergency number did not operate. The staff had no pass number to deactivate the alarm. The waitress forgot to bring the starter but the main course was good.

We loved the idea of not having our room serviced, so we got a free drink each, not spirits, we only stayed 3 nights, so we got 2 free drinks each night. Great for the environment. Breakfast was second to none, absolutely delicious, freshly cooked so there was a short wait, but well worth the wait. The evening menu was a little bit pub grub, but we didn’t mind, we ate in each night as the food was so good. Swallow falls was straight across the road, it cost £2 each to get in, but again definitely worth a visit, then a short walk along the road to the Ugly House from there a good walk to Betwsycoed down by the river and through woodlands. Would definitely stay there again

Well there was nothing we didn’t like about our stay, apart from been woken up at 3am by the fire alarm going off, the 2 young lads in charged were a little out of their depth I think, as they were just relief night porters and a bit green behind their ears. But after speaking to management the following day they explained the issues and although it was inconvenient, I’d sooner be stood outside in the rain and cold and there be no fire than sleeping though and there actually been a fire. The managers and staff were all very reassuring and assured us that there would be training given to staff etc.
