Lovely spacious home, 8mins walk to York Minster

The location is great, the apartment is very good, well layed out. Well equipped kitchen and the beds were very comfortable. Booking in was easy and straightforward and the parking arrangement was great.

There was a constant scream from the water pipes which only stopped when a tap was used. It was very loud in fact it was that loud that you could hear it from the main road outside. The only way we could sleep at night was to run all the taps for around 10 minutes which seemed to cure it. However if somebody then used a tap the sound was back. As we were out all day and evening we thought it might have cleared for the second night but it hadn't. If we had been staying longer we would have complained to the owners. It was a shame as it put a downer on a great weekend.

This is a very large property with a great lounge room, dining room and kitchen. The upstairs bedroom and bathroom were very comfortable and quite large. The location was awesome and very quiet. I would definitely recommend and stay here again but just be aware of the differences in the bedrooms.

Other reviews have mentioned that the downstairs bedroom was "creepy" - I would not say that at all but it is a lot smaller with little space to move and the bathroom is very small. It is just something to be aware of as we were 2 couples travelling together and there is a significant difference in the bedrooms. Also just be aware of the stairs for getting the luggage up to the bedroom. This was the benefit of the downstairs bedroom although we had to store them outside the room under the stairs - no storage in the room for some clothes despite there being a small wardrobe but can only hang clothes so no where for underwear etc. We were staying for a week so this type of thing was important. Having said this I would definitely stay here again - this is more a comment about what to be aware of.

The house had enough space for everyone to be relaxed and spaced out - everywhere was clean and ready to use! The heating was easy to use and easily accessable. York centre was 8 minutes away and was a lovely short walk to shops, restaurants and cafes.

Everything was lovely, but if you are a light sleeper like me, then the taps and the water pressure makes noises throughout the day and night- making it hard to sleep. Only issue we had.

Amazing location! Cozy neighbourhood while also being a 5-10 minute walk from the center of the old city. Fully stocked kitchen and a cozy sitting room.

Showing its age a little, with some minor fix-its needed (e.g. some parts of the curtains off the rings, upstairs shower not working, etc).

Well equipped and spacious property very close to York Minster on a quiet street. It really is a very comfortable and homely place to stay in York. Emma was very prompt with communication and allowed us to leave luggage early which we really appreciated. We didn't cook but the kitchen looked well equipped. The beds were comfortable, upstairs firm, downstairs medium, and the showers were lovely and warm. Would totally recommend (I would have rated this property 10/10) if plumbing issue could be dealt with. An improvement for comfort of guests could be to provide some shelves for the downstairs bedroom, perhaps in the wardrobe.

There was a continuous, very loud, high pitched sound in the property when we arrived, coming from the water pipes. To compound it the neighbours dog was barking a lot. We took a long time adjusting taps to stop the noise and eventually discovered that we could control it by leaving the hot tap in the upstairs bathroom very slightly on. We sometimes managed to do this without leaving the tap dripping but at other times it would drip. Emma said she would try and get a plumber but this did not happen. We did not receive an apology during our stay but we learned from the neighbour that the problem has been going on for several months. He said it has been upsetting his dog. We felt disappointed that the host had not informed us about the noise in advance nor how to control it and didn't let on that it was a known problem when we reported it to her.

Great location and very comfortable

This was very spacious, big kitchen, dining and lounge area. The upstairs bedroom and shower was more than ample. The second downstairs bedroom and shower was something to be desired as it was very cramped especially the shower. The location was perfect for a short visit to York. All in all a great place to stay.
