Royal William Yard - Lovely 1-Bed Apartment in Historic Plymouth

Is everything an acceptable answer? The place was gorgeous and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here for new years, bit late with the review but will stay again!

We didn't book long enough!

Comfy and snug accommodation situated in the Brewhouse building (probably our favourite one!) - great location and owners were helpful and friendly. Around the Yard, the Cremyll ferry is running from here during renovation of the usual slipway so very easy to pop over to Mount Edgcumb or further and really good to see the new innovative retail space in one of the former restaurants - hopefully the Yard owners will realise that having active units is better commercially than the high rentals that other regeneration schemes aim for!

As a longstanding visitor, it is concerning to see some signs of decline with a number of eateries closed - Covid, inflation and cost of living all play a part but losing one or two more units would have a markedly negative effect. As to the flat - whilst cosy and snug, it is like several other properties on site - dated and in need of a refurb as there are some issues - old electrics and shower fittings, wifi was poorer than other places we have stayed, there was a very musty odour from the shower area (the drains appeared to be getting pumped out by the Green every day of the 10 we were there). The biggest drawback and one that really ought to be made clearer in the advertising is the fact that the only toilet is on the lower level which meant steep steps need to be negotiated both ways at night for those of us for whom age is catching up. It is always hard to work out when to invest in improvements but with 24 newer houses and more on the way, it is very probable that there will be some stiff competition around RWY in the forseeable future.

The apartment was well equipped and very clean and the location was great

Unfortunately there was an issue with the showers drainage which caused a bad smell.

The location is amazing. Everything you need nearby with stunning views.

The property was nice, there was everything you need for a lovely stay. Terrie was a fantastic host

The smell from the shower & sink upstairs was awful when we first got there, but my husband filled the sink with water which stopped the smell

Located in the Royal William Yard, very peaceful (apart from the seagulls but this reminds you of where you are). Short walks to bars and restaurants. Reserved parking. The RWY gives that feeling of exclusivity.

I would have preferred the toilet to be on the upper floor but maybe that's a me thing.
