Lovely room above lively pub: exactly what we were after and what we thought we had booked.

Coffee machine in room leaked No TV in room Shower not working properly

Room was like the photos, it was facing the road, which was very quiet and the Saxon Abbey, there was some campanology kind of concert but it didn’t wake us up, gradual and non intrusive until the final Sunday morning time of 10:30, which was full on wake up but we should have been ready yeah? They didn’t rushed us to leave! We had our dinner in tje pub, great food and the staff and local people were great. We loved the atmosphere and the area ! We will definitely return

The hot tub was great but it was difficult to have a standing shower, we were unable to work out the mixing tabs. Very hot

Comfortable room, excellent decor, friendly staff. Really pleasant place.

Shower in bathroom was fiddly but staff promised to fix soon, that was the only hiccup.

Set in a lovely village location and within walking distance of the village facilities (restaurants, shop and farm cafe). Short walk to catch bus into Oxford which is a 20 minute journey.

Our room was very small but the bed was comfy and room spotlessly clean. The shower in the stand alone bath (you had to sit down in it) caused us problems as we could not get the temperature right - it was either scalding hot or freezing cold and if you had the water on at any pressure it spurted all over the place. There was quite a bit of noise from the bar downstairs in the evening, particularly on the Saturday night. The pub garden could do with a bit of TLC so we had a drink up the road in The George Hotel as it had a much nicer outdoor seating area.
