Great hotel, bar, food and staff.

Having to leave.

It was quiet and comfortable. We had our dog with us and there was plenty of space for him in the Steading room we stayed in (Clova). The staff were all lovely especially Jenny who always made time to have a chat and she was brilliant with our dog. The food was also lovely (dinner 2 nights in the bar and full Scottish breakfast both mornings)

The only slight downside to the property is there being no grassy area to let the dog off at the hotel but it wasn’t a huge issue.

Long journey from nearest main road. Better for a long stay, but we only planned one night.

Difficult to get reception staff. Breakfast a little overpriced - poached eggs disappointing

We thought that there should be a seating area near the bar for smokers. Even the couple of seats by the roadside which is seperate from the rest of seating would be good. The dinner menu was very dull and my meal was so salty I could not eat it. I was refunded but spoiled our evening really. Next day we had soup and a sandwich for lunch which was lovely. No skimmed milk available in our room. Staff were all lovely and helpful.
