Very cozy in a storm

Beautiful old building. Good parking. Lovely canal walk around 1 mile away. Very good instructions of how to get to the property. Prompt reply from host re queries.

The kitchen was well equipped but it is the first place I have been to which did not provide a few basics like salt and pepper, brush to wash the dishes, oven gloves and cloths for wiping the surfaces, a broom. Perhaps we did not find them. However it did provide a lot of fairy liquid and dishwasher tablets. Also it said it had a washing machine and tumble dryer on the facilities on booking.com, but these were locked away with a padlock.

A solid building with a fascinating history. Well equipped and well furnished. We stayed in December and the property was warm, and welcoming - a cosy spot to shelter from winter storms.

Plan to arrive in daylight. Access is easy via two routes, once you understand it.

Such a lovely old property, lots of room inside and outside, everything you need for the stay. Comfy beds and a lovely log fire. Short walk to Elland with lots of nice pubs and bars.

We really enjoyed our short stay at this beautiful house . Everything we needed for a family get together . It was a privilege to stay in this historic house with every facility to make our stay comfortable . Very well equipped kitchen , comfortable beds , relaxing and spacious living area,a great outside area for our grandchildren to explore.All very clean and a lovely wood burner to light up in the evening . Michael was a great host and communication was really good .

We had no dislikes

Just a wonderful place with a rich feeling of history but also had everything you need there. A unique stay.

Slight warning of the state of the roads leading up to the house, mentioned in the handbook but just a heads up. Was slightly challenging for my disabled friend when a taxi refused to go up the side road. But honestly the rest was faultless.

This was truly a house full of character with still all the amenities wanted within.

A little tricky to find but as I was getting ready here the morning of my wedding I just said trust Google maps even when it's seems wrong and you'll be ok and that seemed to work 😂
