Guest House HINATA - Japanese House with Sauna and Open-air Bath

It was as beautiful as the photos and in a great location. Everything we needed to enjoy a couple days in Takayama.

The stairs are steep and may not be good for elderly.

Wunderbares neu renoviertes Haus in einer sehr schönen Gegend von Takayama

Quiet location in nicer, old part of town. Easy access to shops, restaurants and shrines and temples. Very clean, well equipped property. The kitchen was particularly well equipped.

The only suggested improvement would be to provide larger bath towels. The towels were rather small, the smallest we had encountered in the various houses and hotels we had stayed in during our travels throughout Japan.

Alleen zou het fijn zijn als er meerdere gewone bedden waren. Daar is best wel plaats voor.

Logement fonctionnel, propre et calme. Espace dinatoire en bas avec salle de bain et espace nuit en haut divisé en 2 sections, séparées par des portes coulissantes. Stationnement inclus, ce qui est pratique quand on arrive en voiture. J'imagine qu'en hiver, le sauna et le bain extérieur sont agréables mais nous ne l'avons pas utilisé.

Les photos grand angle laissent penser qu'il y a un petit jardin où venir se poser au calme sur les roches mais en fait l'espace est très restreint, et les roches forment une sorte de mur où on ne peut pas aller à se prélasser. Mais ça reste joli et intime.

It was a great experience to stay in a Japanese house, the house is really well located

We found the futons and beds a little bit hard ( matter of taste), and it has no blinds so we woke up with the sunshine ( very early, 5 am)

Takayama is beautiful and the property location is fantastic, the temple close by is peaceful, the historic streets nearby are lovely and the variety of shops are great. We enjoyed the sauna and outdoor bath at the property, the towels were soft. Having basic cooking items and oil, seasoning and soy sauce was good too, and the welcome drinks were a nice surprise. The chairs in the dining room were very comfortable. Takayama is a beautiful place well worth a visit. We recommend a bus trip to Shirakawago for amazing scenery.

The bed mattresses were very firm, we like a firm mattress but these were very firm. There were only a few hooks to hang clothes.
