Le Moulin du Roc

The hotel and grounds were exquisite. Everything was finished to a very high standard. Our room was lovely, even if a little small. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very attractive. The hotel had free loaner e-bikes that we used to explore the surrounding area.

Getting to the hotel necessitating driving through portions of the Perigord that we would not otherwise have visited. We were underwhelmed by Brantome, and disappointed to find that we would have to wait over an hour for the next tour of Villars Cave (Grotte)

Such an elegant hotel. Our room and terrace were lovely, extremely comfortable and well maintained. The staff were exceptional, especially Emiline who seemed to be the unlucky one who was always available to answer all of our assorted questions about the surrounding area. She is delightful. The restaurant, Roda, was outstanding. The food and service exceptional with an elegant setting.

If your life revolves around your laptop please note the internet was difficult, bumping us offline repeatedly during our stay with service too weak to make phone calls. Housekeeping was a bit haphazard and hurried...a dirty cleaning cloth left in the room one day, glasses not exchanged for fresh ones on two days and the sink drain removed and left to the side another morning...yuck. One evening when the restaurant was closed it was suggested by the hotel to order a meal from a takeaway service which the hotel works with. The food was extremely bland and boring.
