"Romantic and very memorable"

Incredible setting lots and lots charming features set to the relaxing sound track of the river alongside. Lovely staff and superb breakfast. Unfortunately on this occasion we didn’t get to try the restaurant but I have every confidence that it would be worth coming back for.

It’s too far from home for us to visit every weekend 😂

"Fabulous location..great staff…but.."

It’s a beautiful property, the location and grounds are lovely. We stayed here before about 4 years ago and loved it.

Dinner menu was drastically reduced compared to our last stay? No tasting menu. Food was OK I guess. Restaurant was very quiet..compared to our last visit. Rooms are nice enough, the balcony is dark and a bit grim In cloudy weather. The notice on the coffee station states”nothing is placed in the room without thought or consideration “ I’m paraphrasing. But to boil the kettle for coffee..you had to locate a socket close enough to the floor as the lead is so short?! Not good placement. Honestly, nothing was really luxurious in the room. Shower control was outside the shower/wet room..odd! (Apparently this room has been refurbished…) Breakfast we had in the room, coffee was cold on arrival, the bread had been heated in an oven I think so it was a bit hard as it cooled. It was all just OK, not amazing as I remembered it. Staff I met are lovely, helpful and pleasant. A major asset to the hotel. Would I stay again..not sure TBH.
