Wasn't very clean but not terrible

The heating was switched off on entering - ice-cold house. The thermostat was not working. The paper walls are rolling off in every room. The family room ceiling is water-damaged, hanging down. Smoked cigarette buds on radiators. Missing door handles, and spongy laminate in the family room. The kitchen is in a state where no one wants to touch anything. Mouldy bathroom.

The location and it was warm

This house is fine if you like takeaway chicken bone remnants and cigarette ends outside your back door, sleeping in previous occupants sheets with questionable marks and pubes, prehistoric and insufficient cutlery and crockery. Bathroom also wasn’t clean and toilet seat dangerous. Mentioned to owner and they said they didn’t own it and got no allowance for cleaning or anything blah blah, in other words they didn’t care. Said they had other better properties nearby though! Bizarre experience.

Very good communication.

I liked how the place hadn’t been cleaned so I asked for a refund over a month ago and I’ve only been lied to and ignored since.

That I’m still having to ask for my money back and instead I’ve only received extremely poor customer service

I booked this property for the night whilst in Wigan for a wake. After a 5 hour drive, for a very sad occasion, we arrived to what I can only describe as hell. My sister in law actually arrived at the property first and called me to tell me how terrible it was, however even being prepared for it to bad, I was still shocked. The bins are over flowing out the front The whole place was filthy. Not a single side or floor looked like it had been cleaned in some time The mugs in the cupboard hadn’t been washed - they had clearly been put away dirty There’s a room with a terrible smell coming from it that has a padlock on The ceiling in the living room looks like it’s ready to fall down There’s a shed in the garden full of what can only be described as a years worth of rubbish Despite all of this we were open to staying, being so far from home and only needing a place to sleep. Unfortunately the beds not only had dirty sheets on them but they were actually full of crumbs and debris. The fact that someone feels it acceptable to allow a family to arrive to this is beyond comprehension. I text the owner to inform her we wouldn’t be staying due to the state of the property and didn’t get a response. I have also contacted Booking.com 22 hours ago and was informed I’d be contacted within 1 hour and am yet to hear from them. Avoid at all costs!

Handy location for town or the rugby ground. 2nd time staying and would always use if in a group.
