The Seaview - South Shields

The apartment was very clean and so comfortable. The location was AMAZING! You are literally slap bang next to the gorgeous beach, the fabulous park, the fairground, swimming pool,10 pin bowling plus other activities, plus cafes and restaurants - especially the fab 'Curry Mile' on Ocean Rd with the best Indian restaurants we have dined at (we ate in Zeera 10/10 and had takeaway from GinGer 10/10). You really dont need to be a driver if you stay here as a family because everything is on your doorstep! Beautiful views from the windows and electric recliners to lie on after a busy day, just looking out to sea (and scoffing a tasty indian takeaway!). Mark the host was just lovely. He and thr cleaner organised birthday banners, a cake, balloons and two lovely squishmallow toys for my daughter whose birthday it was and the reason for our trip. She was absolutely delighted. I had asked for a couple of banners but they went above and beyond! Comfy, clean beds and plenty of fluffy towels. There was also lovely extras of biscuits and nice cappuccino drinks. We also had new shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom, plus showergel. There was washing tablets for the washing machine (very handy for sandy clothes!) and basically all the wee bits that you sometimes forget or usually need to go shopping straight away for - tea, coffee, sugar, fresh milk sachets in fridge, salt, pepper, handwash, washing up liquid. We will certainly be back and cannot rate highly enough. My daughter now wants to move here when shes a 'big girl'. Ps the fairground is great and seems to be run by the local authority (?). It was spotless and so well run and I also think very reasonably priced compared to other beach based resorts like Blackpool. It didnt have any tackiness about it and was really well staffed (plus half price on fridays!).

To be honest this is a review that I am struggling to find any negatives about! I suppose one thing would be for me to have paid attention (as im sure its written somewhere) that the apartment is up 4 flights of stairs (I have rheumatoid arthritis but i managed ok as I had hubby for all the luggage). That issue was down to me I think not reading the info properly before booking (again, Im sure its written somewhere as Mark is such a fab host who really misses nothing! 😊). This wouldnt put me off staying again though - we will defo be back!

Not really for 4 adults - the twin room beds next to each other and one had rails so not easy to get in and out as almost a double bed due to no space between beds Up lots of stairs ok for us not suitable for less able

The host Mark was fantastic easy to contact and very happy to answer any questions regarding flat Our 2nd stay didn't disapoint once again we were able to drop off our bags as we were early it wasn't too much trouble at all

Bathroom alittle on the small side small second bed noisy when turning over

Beautiful views of the park and the sea and even the castle ruins. The little touches of treasure chest and binoculars was brilliant great for kids.
