Good location

Heating didn't work and the place is very small. The second bed for only fit a young child.

The ease of access was great, the owner was super helpful and told me the code before I arrived. The view from the apartment was fabulous, with a telescope to watch the ships too!

Two sets of stairs with a 1/9 yr old Very poor mattress in master bedroom could feel springs coming through.

Getting into the apartment was quick and easy - good comms with hosts. Super convenient free parking outside and getting to beach. Great Colemans Fish and Chips just 2 mins around the corner. Lovely views from lounge window.

Couple of maintenance issues - toilet seat needs fixing and bedroom doors didn't close. We didn't flag up at the time, as we weren't staying long.

The living room/kitchen was very stylish and had magnificent views. South shields is a beautiful seaside location.

The host was not there to meet us. I had to phone him. He then attempted to send me picture of the key code. I couldn't get picture so phoned him again and asked him to tell me the code. The windows were filthy which ruined the views. Host said window cleaners come once a fortnight and will be there Monday. Mould at bottom of shower and in kitchen sink. As soon as I let the host know, he promptly came out to inspect and quickly sent out a barefoot cleaner who didn't seem to have a clue how to clean; but I told her that it was fine as I just wanted her gone so we could enjoy holiday. The tv signal was bad and unwatchable. Lack of facilities. Had to wait 24 hours for an airer. Not enough kitchen utensils. No instructions for dishwasher which smelled disgusting. Instructions for hob was a too fast to follow YouTube video. No instructions for washing machine which led me to mistakenly switching off boiler as it looked like the washing machine wall switch; which led to no hot water for one day. Host was slow to respond and unable to help over the phone. It was only when he sent out the landlord who managed to find out what had happened that the problem was resolved. If instructions to boiler and everything else had been left; and also various switches clearly and easily labelled, this would have easily been avoided. The host had an unfriendly, defensive attitude the whole time and having to communicate with him and wait for his responses was extremely stressful. At one point during the no hot water phase he was demanding that we leave the apartment and move into another of his properties as he wasn't able to get a plumber till Monday. I had to reason with him that because I have certain disabilities and I wanted this particular apartment, that we would be prepared to cope for 2 days till then. I didn't want the hassle of moving and getting used to another place that may have been even worse considering the problems already experienced.
