Staff were friendly.

We paid £1,000 for two nights. This, for a room with scaffolding outside (see photos). The hotel is very tired and unattractive internally, with furniture that should have been replaced many many years ago. We wanted to check in three hours early, for which they wanted to charge us an additional £90 for the pleasure. This was our second time in this hotel, the first and last times.

Considerando che si è in piena campagna senza niente nei dintorni raggiungibile a piedi, la colazione dovrebbe durare fino alle 11.oo anziché alle 10.30. Atmosfera bella ma nessun tocco di modernità

Il freddo. Pur essendo la prima settimana di giugno era freddissimo. Pioggia e vento. Riscaldamenti spenti. La prima notte è stata infernale. Nelle camere non c'è la seconda finestra interna e la camera era gelida. Avevano spento la settimana prima perché aveva fatto caldo e non avevano pensato di riaccendere. Ricevimento un po' burbero.

All the staff are exceptionally friendly and made us feel really welcome. We were given a lovely table in the library for our evening meal and room service was excellent. Breakfast included lots of lovely touches including a healthy shot of the day and the spa team were also great.

One of our rooms had an unexpected plumbing issue so 2 of our party couldnt shower in their room.

Quiet and lively surroundings

Air con made a lot of noise during the night.
