George & Dragon Country Pub & Hotel Wolverton Townsend

The room was a good size and very clean. The bathroom was perfect, large shower and decent sized towels (so many places provide tiny towels). The food was very good and service was fast.

Had been four times before with excellent food - we only had breakfast but it was not up to the standards of previous and we were disappointed

Lovely and quiet setting for short getaway.

The bed is too uncomfortably hard as well as the pillow. Could not sleep properly because of this.

The staff were fantastic, really attentive and on hand. Ensured the whole stay was as comfortable as possible.

Being a country pub I was secretly hoping for a few game options on the dinner menu... Instead had to settle for a burger... but when you have to settle for a burger you know it's not all bad! :)

A pint of green beer in the bar. Looked awful but tasted good. Apparently the Stonehenge brewery only brews it during spring. The barmaid claimed it was the special hops that made it green. But I am not too sure about that!.

An extra £12 for a full English breakfast seemed rather a lot, considering our room rate included all the other breakfast food on offer (cereals/croissants/pastries/orange juice/coffee/tea etc) as well as the choice of a bacon/sausage/egg sandwich. But no complaint about the for itself. When we arrived the previous evening, several customers were having a meal. The food smelled delicious but as we were meeting up with family elsewhere for dinner we didn't try it..
