Perfect location and so secure

5 mins to station on edge of old town

Unsafe exit; iron gate could only be unlocked from outside. Steep stairs with no lights to go down. Smell of cat pee on stairs. Inside toilet dirty, gooey dirt in floor corners, coffee machine not working, loose fittings, soap dispenser empty,

The location is excellent, very close to the food market, tourist restaurant strip, and Palermo Central train station. At first, we were a little worried about the neighborhood, but we soon found out our concerns were unfounded, as we did not experience or see any negative incidents. The apartment is not 5-star; the outside of the building needs a lot of work, but yhos adds to its character, and the inside the apartment everything was very clean and in good condition. Our host Francesco was very helpful when we requested advice during our stay.

Nothing worth mentioning.

The property was well furnished in an excellent location a couple of minutes from the main train and bus station on Via Maqueda which is the main tourist route to the opera house and is lined with bars and restaurants and ice cream shops. Also close to one of the street markets. It was a really lucky find for us.

It was all good

The apartment is within the historic Palazzo Cutò Filangeri off Via Maqueda, one of Palermo's main streets. It is very well located for reaching all the main sights in the city centre and is only a few minutes walk from the train station. Palermo is a bustling noisy city full of locals and tourists and can feel quite chaotic at times, the Palazzo Cuto suite & charme provides a calm haven away from the hustle and bustle. The building houses a hotel and private apartments as well as a couple of holiday lets so you get a glimpse of everyday life for Sicilians too.The apartment itself is reached through a secure entrance and has been modernised and decorated to a good standard. The main living room has some original features such as the high wooden ceiling and wooden shutters which keep the room cool and dark. The bed was comfortable and there are 2 chairs for sitting in the evening. There is a set of a table and chairs to eat at and another set on the small balcony for a glass of wine away from the heat of the sun. There is a small kitchen area with a hob, sink and fridge stocked with water, and pots, plates and cutlery are provided. Also some of the owners own organic olive oil, which was delicious. A basic breakfast of small toasted bread and jam was also provided. There is also a coffee machine which was great for us as we love our coffee. The bathroom has a great shower and toiletries and towels are provided and there is a hairdryer too. We stayed for 8 nights and our room was cleaned and linens changed in the middle of our stay, the staff were very friendly. We had a problem with the lights one evening and the next morning the owner came with an electrician and sorted it for us, it was a weekend after a public holiday so we were impressed by the issue being fixed so quickly. The owner was very friendly. We loved our stay here and would book again.
