Pangkor Laut Resort - Small Luxury Hotels of the World

Just checked out after a 3D2N stay at the Sea Villa in Pangkor Laut Resort, and it was truly such a memorable escape. Waking up to uninterrupted sea views with the sound of waves right beneath the villa is something really special. The villa itself was spacious, private, and incredibly relaxing, perfect for switching off and just soaking in the surroundings. The entire island feels lush, serene, and beautifully preserved. Service throughout our stay was warm, attentive, and seamless. Getting around was easy with the buggy service, and everything felt well taken care of. One of the highlights was the nature walk, the guide was so knowledgeable and engaging, sharing so much about the island’s ecosystem, wildlife, and history. It added a whole new layer of appreciation to the stay and made the experience even more meaningful. All in all, a beautiful, peaceful getaway that feels worlds away from the everyday. Would absolutely return for the tranquility, the views, and the overall experience.

There were a couple of very minor hiccups (like the fridge not being quite cold), but honestly, it didn’t take away from the overall experience.

Wonderful location, facilities and the staff were delightful.

The AC in our room was particularly noisy and we were unable to sleep with it on which resulted in one or three uncomfortable nights.

Lovely resort, well laid out and very picturesque. Pool was beautiful and the food quality and selection was very good. The rooms were lovely and spacious, well equipped with good views. The staff were amazing and very attentive.

Although the staff worked hard to keep the beaches and area around the hotel clean, they were constantly full of rubbish, plastic and debris making the areas unpleasant. Also the way the meals were priced ( lunches, beach and pool restaurants) did not offer snacks, only full meals. This and the high price of all of the food (compared to Malaysia in general) and the fact that the taxes and service charges were not added on to the bills until you checked out, made eating very expensive.

Breakfast was first class with a really good range of options. There were a variety of options for lunch and dinner and we tried three of them which were satisfactory. We also greatly enjoyed the trek across the island accompanied by the resident naturalist. Service by the beach was first class, with assistance being provided to move sunbeds when needed and nice clean toilet and shower facilities. The buggy service to take you around the area was really good as it is a hilly island and walking across to the beach would've been hard work. The pool was a good size and very clean.

I was upset that we couldn't snorkel on one side of the island because they were worried about sea urchins and on the other side, because of the heavy sea traffic in the Melakka Straits, there were no fish to see. I felt that advising use of sea-swimming shoes to protect against the sea urchins would have been entirely reasonable. I'm not sure the publicity for the resort identified that actually there were no good snorkelling opportunities.

The beach was really disappointing—dirty, not clean, and the water wasn’t clear at all. Definitely not worth the money we paid.

Rooms are old, not particularly clean and although its priced as a luxury hotel the experience is far from being premium

Personeel super vriendelijk , heerlijk eten, Spa Village, algemene sfeer is rustig en ontspannen.

Er zijn 4 hill villas in één gebouw, twee onder en twee boven. Je hebt daardoor weinig privacy en de villas zijn erg gehorig. Een volgende keer zou ik voor een sea villa gaan.
