The Burrow - 2 bedroom apartment in central Windermere

It was everything that we needed. Especially after a long walk. The apartment was spotless.

The hot water was hit & miss. The owner is aware.

The decor and location.

We booked this property for 2 days as it was listed under accessible and my disabled mother was travelling with us, yet there are 2 large steps to get in to the property and a step up to get into the bathroom. This caused lots of distress getting in and out of the property and getting my mother into the bathroom. We actually didn't leave the apartment the first night as getting in was hard enough it was too much and it basically ruined the experience for us.

The property was so well thought out in terms of interior design. It was absolutely perfect for our family - 2 adults, a 4 year old, 1 year old and a dog. The host, Lara, was incredibly thoughtful and had left out some snacks, milk and dog treats which was so appreciated. The communication before our stay was also fantastic and Lara is very responsive. The location was perfect, especially with small children as it was so central.

Parking was the only slight issue, however Lara had provided really clear solutions to this which worked great for us!

The apartment was very clean and nicely decorated. It was in a great location, very near to the town center. It had everything we needed, and the kitchen was well-equipped. We enjoyed the space for a short stay, and the owner had thought of everything you could possibly need for a good experience, even milk in the fridge.

The bedrooms were on a main road where the traffic noise was loud and constant. Earplugs were provided, but unfortunately, the level of traffic noise was a little too much for me, which led to very little sleep. While the bed was comfortable, the pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. New pillows would have definitely improved the level of comfort during our stay. There is no parking, and parking places are few and far between.
