8 The Craighurst, Southwold

Excellent location, perfect for 2 couples, we live near Oxford and met up with friends from Kent to celebrate my husband’s 75th birthday. Loved our time in Southwold and the property exceeded our expectations.

Nothing it was perfect for what we wanted

Brilliant location and able to park right outside. The flat was spacious, very clean and well-equipped. The beds were comfortable and the showers were good. We liked the 1950s vibe, especially the kitchen pantry cupboard, though would have preferred a soft sofa! All in all, a great flat in a great location, we’ll be back.

The location was good right by the sea.

Dark sitting room could do with better lighting. Construction workers started at 7 30 am every morning bar the weekend bang next to my bedroom! Could have done with some instructions for heating and cooker.

It was very clean, very comfortable beds and great location opposite beach.

Very important to address: The bathroom door handle in one of the bedrooms broke while my friend was in the bathroom trapping her inside. After much anxious effort from both of us on opposite sides of the door she managed to unjam the door knob and free herself. It was a very anxiety provoking situation that needs addressing immediately. Also, the television did not work. We were not able to change channels using the remote control which was frustrating. Nice to have …. A separate recycling bin.

self catering apartment - location was very close to the sea and all facilities as expected so v good. Interior was quite dated but we had expected that was the case from the photos - our choice but as a late booking we had little choice.

WE had only a few days break from work etc and so decided not to make an issue about the following - One bedroom shower room - shower would not control properly and so both shower heads streamed water and one was overly hot. ( I did leave a note for the owner) The tv did not work well - the volume was intermittent . We changed the remote batteries but to no avail. The tv was dated. ( Note left for owner) Most important - behind the building major refurbishment was taking place of other buildings plus across the road the council highways were conducting noisy road repairs - we were in the middle . Luckily we were away from the property for most of the day and the workmen finished by 4pm each day.

Beds very comfortable and good location.

The floor was not very clean, there was a lot of sand , some of which appeared to have just been swept under a rug. We could not find a dustpan and brush to enable us to clear the sand that was there when we arrived and also any that we brought into the apartment.
