Amazing location and perfect for eating at another local restaurant ‘where there’s smoke’

Room was lovely and comfortable

The food menu was very limited and this was not advertised to us beforehand. Very disappointing

Breakfast is great and dinner was good. Staff were very kind and helpful and moved us 3 times happily. Love the baths.

We moved room several times as we had noise all night from builders on the first night and terrible stench probably from drains in several of the rooms. The staff try very hard but the property needs to close over winter and be fully refurbished. It would be a goldmine if Greene King would only sort out the plumbing and internal decor properly. We have stayed before in a stinky room and gave it another try because we would enjoy our stay if we were in a fresh smelling room, but this seems to be more of a problem now and throughout the building. Internal decor is also crumbling.

Separate annex in the courtyard. No one above us. Quiet. Had a great sleep.

Fish and chips were average and just frozen food . Not freshly battered fish. For £17 I wanted better. Breakfast was good.

The location and the property was fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was a variety of meal options, not the standard pub food menu.

We had booked the rooms months in advanced, but it was only set up for one person. When mentioning this on check out, we were informed all their rooms are set up for one person. This doesn’t make sense, as we had already booked months in advance, we wasn’t a last minute booking. It wasn’t an issue as we asked for another mug and made do with the towels. The only feedback would provide, is to high dust, there was cobwebs in the room and restaurant.
