Carriage 1 - Coalport Station Holidays

Owners are super nice, very informative of property and local history, attractions and amenities.

Nothing to dislike and property refurbs are in progress.

The property is exactly as described. It’s quirky and absolutely beautifully transformed from a railway carriage to a home

Keep your eye on the directions, the turns to get there come up pretty quickly!

Quick one night stay on a whim and turned out to be brilliant one. The whole idea was fantastic. The whole family loved it. Fantastic location and the carriage is fitted out really well and equipped. The grounds it is set in are beautiful and there's a great pub next door you can eat from.

Small detail cleaning missed with some rubbish under the settee from previous stays but it's quite a large area to keep on top of I suppose

It was a quirky property with a lot of potential in a nice location.

The interior of the property was incredibly tired and in desperate need of some TLC. Some of the kitchen units were falling apart, the kitchen flooring looked like it had previously sustained significant water damage and was lifting/rotting in places. There was a lot of mold in and around the bathrooms, the "jacuzzi" bath had clumps of black slime/mold coming out of it when our children used it. One of the heated towel rails was "held together" with plaster tape, but still had wires exposed - not safe with small children around. A couple of the blinds fittings were hanging off so we couldn't use them without feeling like they were going to be pulled off the walls. Most importantly, there was a mouse infestation. We woke up after our first night to find out belongings had been chewed and mouse droppings around the property which hadn't been there the night before. Over all, very disappointed.

A really unique and beautiful stay. We only had a one night stay due to other travels plans and was sad to leave.

This quirky train was a great surprise for our 6 & 15 year old. The train was a great conversion with everything we needed. We booked as had a cheerleading event at the Telford international centre, which was a 10 min drive. The pub next to the river was a great location for dinner (we ate there twice) and very easy to walk too. We loved exploring the woodland walk within the train grounds. My 6 year old loved the spa bath! Lovely touch leaving milk & biscuits.

Took a little while to heat up on arrival but once it did it stayed warm. Bathroom blinds need updating.

Interior decor is a little dated and well lived in. The carriage was a little cold, and we wouldn't leave the heaters on overnight in the children's room so it was a little cold, but not terrible either.

I loved the fire pit and location was brilliant, kitchen really user friendly and everything we needed, very spacious for the 5 of us

It felt cold and a little musty! It’s a shame they hadn’t put in the heating ahead of our arrival as it took some time to warm up the carriage, but it is early March so perhaps just the time of year.
