Cozy Castle view flat in Edinburgh EB9

I liked that it was in the middle of downtown. Easy access to everything in walking distance.

I didn't like: no view of the castle no hot water no working tv it had a broken window

Location

Broken window covered with some kind of PVC tape, doesn't close, so cold air and noise comes in all the time. Dark with no light outside the apartment makes it easy for anyone to break the broken window and jump in. Feels haunted. Broken hot shower, doesn't give any hot water, so you can't take shower here. We complained, and still nothing happened. Kitchen doesn't have fridge, so actually it's not appropriate it to call it an apartment. Seems someone bought the stuff from scrap and put it in the kitchen. If you want to sleep, don't book it as the noise from downstairs come all night as the windows are not double glazed. When they close, the noise of swans who reside on the roof starts creeping in. There was continuous knocking on the front glass of this apartment in the dark all night as if someone is outside, so you don't feel safe in here. I'm not sure how BOOKING.COM allows such an apartment to do business on its platform.

The room is big enough for 4 people. Good location.

No tea cups in the room.

Beside being spacious, nothing

Hi There, we had our first night in this apartment and found deep inconsistencies vs what was advertised, and also frightening security issues. The apartment dont even have mobile signal as mobile network is bad, no hot water (!) in the shower so we couldnt take a shower, and even most shockingly a broken window fixed with cardboard which forms the window wall to the direct outside of the flat and people from outside the apartment can easily enter remove the cardbox with tape and enter our flat, which is the most disturbing and scary part. The advert shows a view flat with the castle but there is no view, not even from the outside of the whole flat building and the flat, a complete lie on the advertisement and listing on this site. Also it was very clear that the bed was not cleaned or the bed sheets have not been changed, there were lots of haman hair and dust of all sorts on the bed, not to mention also how dirty the rest of the flat is. I’ve taken pictures and videos of all the issues mentioned. it’s embarassing and shocking Booking.com would even allow something like this in your site.

The flat was bigger than expected

The stairs had a terrible smell, the toilet light was out, and there was no exhaust fan. From the start, it was a frustrating experience. There were no keys in the box, so I called the provided number numerous times but got no answer. They finally sent me a new number via text, but again, no response. I resorted to WhatsApp, and the response was very delayed. It felt like I was being ghosted, and I was left standing outside, unsure and anxious, which created a lot of chaos. It was an awful and confusing ordeal.

Nothing.

Everything. No keys in the lock box. The property had not been cleaned. Building rubbish on the floor. Shower did not work. Bath was dirty. Window pains broken and boarded up. Smelt of cigarettes. Worst of all, extremely noisy as next to pub and busy road. This property should not be on the booking platform!

The apartment was great for the price and right off Princess Street close to Edinburgh Castle. It was cozy. We were intially very pleased until we discovered the shower's hot water heater did not work. We did not shower; the water was too cold. My rating would have been much better had the shower's hot water heater worked.

The shower's hotwater heater did not work. The rental did not have Wi-Fi and the kitchen's refrigerator was missing. There was a microwave.

We loved the location as central for everything

Broken window! Was missing a whoe Payne of glass. So felt vulnerable all night due to lack of security. Microwave did not work and as we had arrived late for the tattoo didt knw until after when tried to heat up my children's food. Also half finnished renovations walking the floor unfinished kitchen units rusty fridge that did not work lack of security and contact through staff not speaking our language and did not understand what I was saying did not help. For the price I paid this is not ACCEPTABLE! MADE WHAT WAS TO ME A SPECIAL MEMORY FOR ME AND MY CHIDREN A SCARY AND VUNREBLE EXPERIENCE
