There are eight flights of stairs, getting steeper as they approach the third floor!

Location was absolutely phenomenal. Everything was such a short walk away. Easy to find, even within walking distance from the station (opposite tivoli) The residents that live there were also nice and welcoming if they saw us coming and going. It does have a balcony that faces the inner courtyard which I imagine in warmer weather would have been delightful to sit outside. The kitchen is very well equipped with pots pans, plates, cups, glasses & cutlery so you really won't need to worry about that! I also has a microwave and kettle and a coffee maker. It was very warm and toasty with automatic heating and usually felt at completely the right temperature. It was very cosy! Washing machine and tumble dryer was a godsend travelling with 3 children, and a great addition to the apartment.

Staying with a toddler (ours is just about to turn 3 in Jan 2025, for context) there aren't any extra security measures. For example you can open the front door just by twisting a little handle, so we had to push a chest of drawers in front of the front door to give us a bit of peace of mind that the toddler wouldn't accidentally escape down the 67 odd stairs to the street. Same goes for the terrace doors, that was a very easy lock to open and if it just had a bolt at the top, would have made it all a bit more stress free. There are small hatch doors leading into the eves, these were also very easy to open and are filled with all sorts of materials in there that probably are not safe to breathe in. We spent most of the holiday stopping the toddler from opening these little hatches. If the host could just have put a lock on them instead of easy to open latches, this would have been much safer. The showering facilities aren't practical. I am a bathroom designer so perhaps I am more cynical. They do not have non-slip tiles on a wet room floor. My toddler and older children slipped countless times in the bathroom due to this. One of my older children ending up with a massive bruise on his hip because of slipping. The Shower area should have an outwards opening door to contain the water and bath mats available rather than tiny towels to help with this issue. The toilet needs rescuing properly. When you sit on the toilet you can feel the bolts are coming away from the wall and it's only a matter of time before it comes off on someone unsuspecting. My toddler managed to grab the toilet brush and it was very clear this had NOT been cleaned for a significant amount of time, it was disgusting and clearly an oversight from the property managers cleaners, it truly was vile and my oldest son coincidentally had a horrible stomach issue the next day. The sofa/couch is very uncomfortable.

Sorry to say but the location was the only redeeming factor of this property. For the $$ we paid we expected more. Hardly a luxury apartment. Third floor requires a difficult stair climb with luggage. The floors are dirty as the the timber has not been sealed since new (see photo with rug lifted). The rugs in the living area are destined for the incinerator. Stains on the sofa (see photo), mould in the shower (see photo). Coffee plunger was broken and not even a single coffee sachet was supplied. The shower curtain doesn't even go close to the floor and so much water ends up on the shiny tiled floor that it is extremely slippy...had to use the personal towels to dry the floor after every shower. Heating was poor.

There is a fire station located a couple of streets away and unfortunately you hear the sirens all night.

The apartment is in a great location in a lovely building near to the train station and Tivoli gardens. Everything is within walking distance. The apartment is spacious and it had all we needed for a short city break.

I would have liked a mirror in the main front bedroom, although there were big mirrors in the kitchen. The windows were a bit difficult to open as the blinds were in the way.
