Good location, on main street. Very nice host and his wife. Very good contact before travel to Sumatra, good price for transfer from the airport Trekking with Yakup (host), fulfill my expecattions. We met orangutans and few other monkeys, food cooked by Yakup and his friend in camp in the middle of jungle was great. Night without electricity and wifi was nice experience. Also rafting was great experience

The location was ideal. Hosts were nice and kind. Very accessible to village and river. Hiking experience was good. Value of money. There are very good spots and cafes nearby.

There was no hot water (but very clean bathroom and very affordable so not complaining) Hiking was in off season so there were no people to socialise.

The lovely couple leaves me with sufficient personal space while availing themselves readily when I needed assistance. Its location opposite the visitor centre makes for easy navigation, pickup convenience, and ease of mind. Great starting point to explore the surrounding.

Given its prime location, many vehicles especially motorbikes pass by - can be a little noisy.

Exceptional hospitality, guidance, and support from the family made my stay unforgettable. During our animal observations, we explored the jungle in ways no organized tour could offer, while working on a photography project aimed at raising awareness of local species—including the often-overlooked butterflies that play a vital role in maintaining the flora—and promoting sustainable tourism. Thanks to Yakup, I also gained a deep insight into rural life and agriculture beyond Bukit Lawang. The room and facilities are practical and well-equipped, providing everything needed for a safe and comfortable stay. At the same time, they offer a genuine sense of being close to nature. The mosquito net kept insects out, and the property is located near restaurants serving traditional Indonesian food. This place inspires something far deeper than journeys—a sense of responsibility for the forest, as it gives you so much in return.

Thank you again for your kindness and hospitality in your home for my short time in Bukit Lawang. You have been very helpful with the trek information (best experience so far in SE Asia), shuttle service or simply sharing a small talk together room is perfect and you feel at home. Close from the trek departure and the river, you can easily access to every point of Bukit Lawang with tuktuk or walking Thank you again to everyone for this experience in Bukit Lawang, I will comeback surely

My stay was wonderful. I was staying in a room in front of the river and it was quiet at night. The commodity are pretty basic but for the price it was really good and clean. The host help me out to book an awesome jungle trekk 2days/one night for a very good price, and also transport to my next destination, when I came back. Him and his family were lovely. He also brought me to the store a few times on his motorbike to give me an hand with what I needed, and I appreciate it a lot.

I didn’t have internet in the room, because I was a bit further on the river side. Only could get it at the reception. So it depends where your room is located. But then again I was really tired, so not a big deal.
