Yakup, Emma and the kids are a lovely family with whom you can really feel at home. We did the 2D/1N jungle trekking tour with Yakup and it was definitely more than worthwhile.

The location is perfect for the jungle trekking and the hosts were fantastic. Very kind and accommodating! It’s a brilliant place to stay. The rooms are simple but it adds to the jungle experience.

It is a little bit noisy and there was not a private bathroom in my room but it wasn’t a big deal! It’s a very good price for the quality of the stay!

Yakup and Ema, and their 2 lovely children Alfa and Ataa (apologies if i got spellings wrong!!) were incredible hosts, super kind, welcoming, helpful and friendly. Loved staying here, Yakup arranged my trek into the jungle and saw orangutans and so much other incredible wildlife. Had an amazing time will def stay again if I make it back to Indonesia, highly reccomend!

Nothing really, although worth knowing its no air con just a fan in rooms and also cold showers only. Didnt bother me at all but might to some people. Still great value for money!

What an amazing place! Yakub and his wife Emma are the best hosts you can imagine. We stayed for one night at the homestay and they took care of our airport transfer. Yakub and Emma are really friendly and are nice to chat with at the bar. They also have 2 lovely little sons. We booked the 3 day 2 night jungle trek at the homestay. This was an amazing experience. With a very experienced jungle guide named Tommy Hendrix we did the trek. Everything is arranged for. They make sure there is enough water at the camp, there is fruit, lunch, dinner, coffe, tea and breakfest. We spotted a lot of Orang Utans, Thomas Langurs, Longtail Macaques, Tucans and a turtle. At night we went fishing and hunting for lobsters in the river. The 3 days were too short because we would have loved to stay longer. We will be back!!! Yakub, Emma and Tommy, Thank you so much. All was perfect ! I recommend 100000 % this homestay. Yakup, Emma and their little family are really friendly and welcoming, always with the smile and good conversation. I was like at home. The location is very central and closest to the tourist bus. Emma can cook breakfast also. The owners organize all for you, we did the 3 days/2 nights jungle trek with Yakup and his friend (the cooker) and it was perfect. Yakup knows and explains many things about the jungle, he takes time to walk and look for the orang outans, to give the best experience for the customers. The food was amazing! We were only 2 guests, so it was like a private tour! Terima kasih for all, i will remember this experience for a long time🙏

Room was clean and was next to the jungle so who want to go for jungle trek it is the best where you can stay. Yakup and Ema are the best. They are so kind. Yakup know everything about jungle and Ema doing best breakfast. Thank you one more time and next time we will plan more days in Bukit Lawang.

Take earplugs if you can because sometimes can be in the morning loudly outside because of animals and bikes but nothings bad because the position is really good.

This homestay was simple, but very clean and is situated directly at the entrance to Bukit Lawang. In the night you can here the rain on the roof for a good sleep and in the morning you can see some macaque monkeys in the trees playing with each other. Good and cheap restaurants are very near as well as a good laundry. We booked a 3 days 2 nights jungle tour at this homestay to a reasonable price and this tour was fantastic. Tommie, our guide, chose a sporty but quiet route for us where only a few other people were around. He is very friendly and is very skilled in finding the different monkey types. He knows the jungle very well. During the trip we were able to see nearly all monkey types that live in the national park. Because of the route he chose, we even had the opportunity to observe an orang-utan mother with its newborn in the trees just by ourselves for a long time.The food our porter cooked for us tasted amazing with a lot of fruit and variety. All in all we liked our stay here a lot and with the owner and his team we had the feeling to buy a trip with people who care for the jungle and its animals.

In the morning Bukit Lawang gets busy, so it can be a little loud. The rooms had no mosquito net.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sama Sama Homestay. Yakub & Ema were the perfect host's. The room was a good size, the mattress & pillow were both clean & comfortable. The shower wasn't powerful or hot but not many are in Indonesia especially at this price. We had a lovely balcony which we used everyday. Sama Sama homestay is at the main hub of the village & very close to the river. We did a jungle trek with Yakub & Irgi ( sorry for the spelling ) and it was fantastic. Both guides being very kind to us not being the fittest of people & not rushing us. Yakub had a great knowledge of the animals, jungle & Bukit Lawang & it was fascinating to listen to him. The food on the trek was very good & plentiful.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming. They were happy to talk with us and make us feel at home during our short, but delightful stay at sama-sama homestay. The rooms were simple but comfortable!
