Emma and Jakub are such pleasant and forthcoming hosts. I felt welcomed and well taken care of. Jakub also arranges for jungle trecking, and he really lives for what he does. Very enjoyable.

It is in the village centre and there is traffic noise, which I did not have an issue with. It is directly at the bus drop off so very well located.

The property was really clean and the hosts were lovely! Very helpful when booking our bus to lake toba. It’s a new property so not many reviews yet but it’s worth staying for such a good price!

We loved the time here in sama sama homestay! Yakup, Emma and the kids are so friendly and welcoming. We spent 3 nights there and felt comfortable right from the beginning. It is located in the centre and right next to the river and some nice warungs. They have 2 rooms with a big balcony upstairs and also a space for drinking coffee together downstairs. Everything is very new and clean with some nice personal details. We did the 3 days/2 nights jungle trek with Yakup because he has been a guide for a really long time and knows a lot about the jungle and the animals. We were a small group with 5 people and he tried to avoid the spots where a lot of people were. We also had lots of fun with Dandy (the helping hand of Yakup) who was with us on the trek. We enjoyed every minute of it and can really recommend the trek with Yakup. Thanks for having us and we will definitely come back if we are in Bukit Lawang again.

Great location, right near the tourist bus, close to town for bars and restaurants. They also offer jungle trekking at a good price. And the owner is really lovely. Small and basic room but has everything you need, plus a good quality fan.

The road can get loud.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jakub and Emma's place! We had a really nice and tidy room directly above their own home on a little square in Bukit Lawang. From the first minute on we really felt welcome eventhough we booked so late in the evening and arrived well after 9pm. Since we really felt a good connection to the owner Jakub, be we decided to also do a 2 day 1 night jungle track with him. This was a great experience. We saw many orangutan and other animals and Jakub is a great guide who really tries to fulfill all of our wishes. The food and the shelter on the track and the rafting trip home also we're really cool. Thanks again for having us Jakub and Emma and hopefully see you soon again, Ronja & Andi

Jakub and his family were very friendly and welcoming. The house was newly build and is located close to the entrance of the national park. The room and facilities were clean. It's also possible to have delicious home made food like Rice/Noodle dishes for lunch/dinner or eg Omelette for breakfast. We recommend to take the jungle trekking tour together with Jakub to the jungle, it was very good organized and he has good knowledge about the animals and where to spot them. The food provided during the trip was really nice and the rafting back on the river (included in the trekking) was fun as well.

Nothing, it was overall very nice to stay at the homestay.

The family was so kind and helpful with everything ! I did the trek just for the day...amazing, the dad was the guide for the tour and I saw a lot of animals ^^ The mom, Irma, and her sons were sooooo cute, it was really great to be in this hostel :) I'll come back next time ✨️

We had an awesome stay at Sama Sama Homestay. The owners are so welcoming, kind and friendly, so we directly felt comfortable. The brewed us delicious coffee each day and were always up for some nice and interesting smalltalk. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and we especially liked the balcony area to take some coffee and relax. We recommend a stay here!!

As the Homestay just recently newly opened not everything was perfectly finished when we arrived eg no WiFi and problems with toilet flush. But the owners are very attending and tried to fix everything immediately. The location is great and central to everything which also means on some evenings you hear the typical karaoke in the neighbourhood. But nothing to worry about, you will enjoy your stay there :)

Owner is very friendly and helpful. It's very new hostel and clean. I was very happy that I stayed there.

Bit noisy at night but still bearable
