Really calm place with amazing sunsets above the clouds

Die beste Unterkunft, in der wir je waren. Pure Natur, Stille und eine wunderschön moderne und trotzdem einfache Hütte. Am besten hat uns aber der Vermieter gefallen, der wirklich extrem freundlich und sehr sympathisch war!! Danke für den mega tollen Aufenthalt! Wir waren echt traurig darüber heute die Hütte verlassen zu müssen. Wenn Madeira, dann hier :)

Hat alles gepasst

This was our homebase for two weeks, longer than most other guests. We wanted to stay off the grid and somewhere peaceful. This place is truly the definition of quiet. Just nature and of course, the donkeys. Our host Dioclecio made us feel at home and communication was easy. We like roadtrips so having to drive to different parts of the island didn’t bother us. The Forest Bar down the hill serves great food and drinks. Mountain Eco Shelters is a gem and we highly recommend this place above everything else. Would rebook it without hesitation!

The room needed larger windows and more natural light

Beautiful and peaceful retreat up in the mountains. Lovely, well equipped cabins. Everything worked well and was very tidy. Calm relaxing athmosphere, only the sounds of nature around you. Great walking trails leaving just outside the cabin. Would have loved to stay longer. No complaints. Extremely kind and helpful host. Big recommendation. Thank you!

Cozy and comfy, stylish and with plenty of space. Due to the bad weather, we had to spend a bit more time inside than originally planned but this wasn't a problem. Also, big thanks to our super helpful host.

The cottage is very cosy, beautiful surroundings, and great hiking opportunities nearby. The hammock is great for chilling. There’s a beautiful viewpoint, Pico Alto, very nearby.

The following is not a criticism of the property, but useful tips for others: It’s useful to know that the nearby snackbar (which is a great place by the way) is open till 18:00. You’ll need to bring your own food if you arrive later. Google Maps took us the wrong way. The entrance to the park is on the ER 103, just follow that road.
