Geel Heritage - A Restored Homestay Haveli

The rooms were really nice, had a indiana jones vibe about the, comfortable beds and all you could need. One of the best places we have stayed in India so far and a real homely, chilled vibe. I can highly recommend.

The interior was decorated as described - rustic haveli vibes.

1. The location is VERY remote and cabs/cars are not allowed into the old city. The autorickshaw/tuk tuks overcharge just because you look like a tourist. 2. There is no backup power. Faced a couple of power outages and it was quite hot. 3. The instant coffee/milk sachets provided in room had expired a couple of months back. Got faulty electric kettles as well. 4. Food service is extremely slow or unavailable. 5. The stay was NOT value for money.

The door of my room was a bit too old and a little difficult to open/close but that’s okay.

We’re in alignment with all reviews here. Would come back anytime. Lovely restored historic house turned guesthouse. Friendly staff, large rooms with with working ac fan and large and clean bathroom. Were the only guests there, the catering on an empty rooftop not really an option. Better to go out for breakfast as we did, loads of coffee bars and restos around. District of small alleys and shops is fun. Will have to haul luggage from clock tower, c 300m.

It is an ancient renovated property.

Very steep stairs to climb unless you get a ground floor room.
