Everything was amazing

The apartment itself was lovely…modern, clean and comfortable. The bed was high, but comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with cutlery and crockery, but could have done with a toaster…something that seems to be lacking in most places weve stayed in the West Indies. It did, however, have a toaster oven, which was very handy. The apartment faced a quite busy road, but the noise did not bother us as the bedroom was quiet enough.

Communication with the host was quite poor. We sent 3 emails ( we travel without a phone) the day before our arrival, telling her we had arrived in Montego Bay and could she please confirm our early check in(which had previously been agreed to by email). All we got back was “Welcome to Montego Bay”. Not very helpful. We arrived after much confusion from the taxi driver, who was a born and bred local, trying to find the place, which is not signposted and no house number is published on the booking site….luckily it was on a short street and he went up and down the street asking people where the place was. (It’s on the corner of the street, in case you have the same trouble.) The lady there was able to ring the host and she told us that early check in was not possible and to come back at 3pm. Understandably we were very early, but some better communication would have put our minds to rest, and we would have planned something else for those few hours. Also, the shower was almost cold…could not get it above lukewarm…I know it’s the tropics, but you can’t wash your hair with cold water.

If you need a quiet location which is not a far drive from the hip strip this is perfect. It was clean and just a nice place to stay. There’s a gym right across the road which was a bonus. Shops are literally right down the road too.

There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like about the property but most probably not the best location for a solo female traveller unless you are driving.

It felt like home away from home. Great value for money, I am definitely recommending and Absolutely booking again summer.
