Sky Tower Serenity + Rooftop Pool

In middle of city but quiet. Clean, comfy bed and had everything you need for a week away for work.

Swipe card system is a bit unclear, too many cards.

Very clear instructions to collect keys and enter building/room. Bed was so incredibly comfortable! And the location was wonderful - short walking distance from Viaduct, Sky Tower and shopping at Queens Street. Aircon worked a treat during the hot summer nights and the street noise was a minimum with the doors closed. Ideal.

It mentioned that we could pay extra for parking but also said “subject to availability”. There wasn’t a way we could check if a spot would be available for us in the building before we had to pay. Didn’t want to pay that extra money then find out there was no space. Not sure if there is a better way to clarify that?

The host was excellent

Great room, very well furnished and excellent bedding. Excellent location to viaduct, sky city tower with plenty of nearby choices for food, drinks, bars, cafes and restaurants. Great view of Sky City tower from the balcony which is a nice bonus for few days stay. Fully equipped kitchen plus washing machine and dryer. Hosts responded quickly to any questions. Special thanks to host Annabelle. During our stay, I gave permission for tradesperson to go in the room to repair broken door handle. When i returned at night my watch charger cable was missing. After discussing with Annabelle and sharing photos, she immediately gave me a credit to buy replacement cable. That was great customer service and trust!

Bathroom was fine but starting to show it's age. Suggest have a couple of umbrellas in the closet. Rained a whole day during our stay and we did not pack umbrellas.

The location is great. Can easily walk down town and up town from here. Rather quiet. Decent room size. Balcony has a view of Sky Tower. There is a proper kitchen facility with good size fridge, microwave oven, electric cooktop, toaster and a dish washer. This is a BIG plus.

The swipe cards would need to be collected from a locked box facility down the street. It is at 60 Market Place. This is rather inconvenient and especially so with evening arrival in an unfamiliar city. Luckily our taxi driver was happy to go there to let us pick up the swipe cards first before going to 22 Nelson Street. The other inconvenience was that we need to check out by 10am but our flight home would not be until in the evening. The facility to store the luggage is not available to non Hotel guests. The room is within the old Heritage Hotel but privately owned. So you are not Heritage Hotel's guests. There is luggage storage facility at the bus terminal of Sky Tower and also in a newsagency/convenient shop diagonally opposite Sky Tower on Victoria Street West. But to get there you would need to haul your luggage up hill and it won't be easy. Storage fee is reasonable. Bring your own toiletries or buy them in the convenient shops nearby. Two bar of soaps are provided here. The rest you would need to supply yourself. This is not a negative to us but I thought I would mention it so that future guests would come prepared.
