The Keep at Castlegate - Luxury detached retreat in Cragg vale, Hebden Bridge

Stunning views and a perfect location to go for some wholesome dog walks with the family whilst exploring the area.

The view from those big windows are just stunning. The waterfall you can hear is so therapeutic, and if your lucky like us and get up early you can see deers out in the field. Our dog although absolutely shattered has really enjoyed the walks. If you love nature this is one to definitely book. Kelly was really good at communicating with us and even left us a little treat for our stay. I'm sure if I look for little faults I'd find them just like any property but the accommodation is stunning and was very clean and well kitted out with things you would need for a short break. Definitely going to return again.

Our only thing we didn't like but was just bad luck was on our 2nd day the council decided to resurface parts of the road right outside the property and was here from about 8am until 4.30pm and they was really noisy, blocked the front door and blocked our car in so it did spoil day 2 slightly, but this was just a case of bad luck and not Kelly's fault and I'm sure they probly don't resurface the roads very often so cannot see it affecting anyone else. But other than that cannot find any fault with our stay at all.

Great location with an amazing view from the living room, would like to stay during the summer to truly enjoy and appreciate it. Loved the Robin Hood pub up the road, within walking distance which is great when being the designated driver. If we have stayed for longer I would definitely have tried some of the produce from Craggies farm shop, great breakfast and some nice beer from the neighbouring Vocation brewery.

Not a problem really, but if you are not a confident driver make sure you plan your routes as some of the local roads are interesting....

Second bedroom extremely small - no space to move around.

Architecturally an amazing building and space, with beautiful views. Great location, with walks from the doorstep and a short drive to Hebden. Good communication with the host before and after our stay regarding our concerns and feedback.

Felt let down by the overall wear and tear of the property for the price. The property was damp, with mould and mould stains on the blinds and around the door in the main bedroom. The sofa bed, whilst leather, had mould/mildew on the top of it and the bedding had not been changed. There was water damage and staining around doorways and above the stairs to the lower ground. There wasn’t a door handle and there was missing frosting on the toilet door upstairs, plus dusty and dirty areas that had been missed by the housekeeper. We had concerns from a previous review and raised this with the host as we had a 7month old baby with us and even though it was now warm, there was still the above areas to rectify. We have been reassured that our feedback and areas of concern will be rectified asap.
