INThe location of the property and the vintage look that it has.
Not a dislike but the garden scape inside the property could have been better. That will elevate the look of the already beautiful property.
INThe property is spacious and at the right location.
I recently stayed at this homestay for a day and was quite disappointed with the overall experience, especially considering the amount charged. While the property is spacious, it lacks basic necessities such as an electric kettle and a functional kitchen. There is no proper dining area —no fan even during the summer—and the lobby was also without a fan, making it uncomfortable. Cleanliness was another concern. Despite efforts to clean, there were still numerous bugs and insects in the bedding, which was quite unpleasant. Additionally, I was surprised to be asked to pay extra cleaning charges even though we had ensured the place was left thoroughly clean. Overall, the stay did not feel worth the price paid and could benefit from significant improvements in basic amenities and hygiene standards.
BEA charming historical building with a garden. Not far from city center, easy to go around!
The house is not isolated from the noisy city. But you're in an indian city, right? Breakfast is bit overpriced, even though it's delicious.
INI had a restful sleep at Hampe's Heritage Home and in the morning I woke-up gently amongst the the birds chirping around. Had a great morning walk around Kukkarahalli Lake and wonderful breakfast at Mahesh Prasad. Came back to Hampe's home and spent some time sitting on the aged wooden bench listening to the quite chorus of sparrows. Its a place where one can cherish childhood days...
INSuch old homes are precious as it reminds us about our culture and the hosts who own the home are extremely warm. Its a joy to see how its so well preserved and celebrated by the owners still making it a beautiful living space. The architecture, the greenery, the cleanliness, the warmth and transparency of the owners made it a special short get away.
INBeautiful heritage bungalow tucked away in the heart of Mysore city with a beautiful garden. The location is perfect for sightseeing in Mysuru town. With only 3 spacious rooms, it is ideal for a large group of friends or family. While the owner stays on the property, you’ll barely hear a peep. So those who like privacy and quiet will like it.
The cost per night seemed a bit expensive for a non AC room in a home stay. The food menu is expensive as well, so best go out or order in from restaurants nearby.
INNothing
This 'homestay' is way too overpriced. And the hosts are RUDE. At Rs.5700 per night you get a room. And that is all you get: A ROOM. NO Electric Kettle (Coffee maker) NO Geyser in the bathroom. (Even lodges charging Rs.2000--3000 provide a geyser these days) NO Lights. Out of the 5 bulbs in my room only ONE was working. Forget reading-- you can't even decently put on make-up in that kind of DIM light. NO complimentary breakfast. NO Housekeeping. The 'Host' wanted to know when I would return and at what time......... When I tried to explain that I was in Mysore to attend a wedding; and hence could not tell him the exact time of return, his rude response was 'That's Not My Problem'. Insisted on knowing at what time I would return because, 'I have to be at home'. Guy -- IF your personal schedule is sooo important to you DON'T RUN A BUSINESS. If you are willing to spend Rs.5700 per night, then just go one kilometre down the road and take a room at Royal Metropole or Southern Star. You will get a good room + plus ALL THE AMENITIES + A 24 HOUR FRONT DESK instead of a gate that closes at 10.30 pm.
INThe location was good. It was quite central and within 10 min drive of Mysore palace and zoo
For the rate charged, we were expecting well maintained rooms, but they were worse than a 1 star hotel. There were mosquitos in the rooms, and different bugs continuously falling on the bed. The property was not at all well maintained, whis was clear not only from the room and bathrooms, but also with the "garden", full of dying plants and weeds. Worst of all was the attitude of the owner, dismissing all the above concerns by claiming that we should have expected such a bad experience as we booked a "heritage property" Not at all recommended for anyone, expecially if travelling with children.
DEVery friendly and helpful host.
