Solar dos Reis by An Island Apart

This small hotel is located in a very beautiful place between the mountains. The sound from the Levada Novo is very calming. There is a beautiful garden, well taken care off. The rooms are nice, very good size and clean. Mr. Danilo who runs the place is very nice and he cares about it. The breakfast was nice with eggs, bread, cheese, cereals and fruits, every morning Carmen or Mr. Danilo was ready to prepare the breakfast and eggs. We had a wonderful week and we absolutely love this place.

We liked everything – the historical house was perfectly and recently renovated. The host, his family and employees were both super friendly and professional. Definitely recommended!

This was our second stay and it was absolutely lovely once more. The hotel is beautiful, provides everything one might need and the entire staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is nice and provides opportunities to chat with other guests. We appreciated the well equipped kitchen to make occasional lunches and dinners. Would stay again at any time!

We were not in love with the bed sheets (made us feel a bit sweaty), but that was a very minor thing. Being a bit higher up the valley means the weather might be a bit worse than at the coast (but on the other hand you get great views!).

nice place, beautiful view and great position if you want to see the island, it’s necessary to have a car otherwise i don’t think you can get there

no shower gel or shampoo 😳 the pool is not heated, you can’t use it during winter it was cold

The owner Mr. Danilo is such an amazing person. His team and him took very good care about the guests, room condition, garden, pool as well as breakfast. The location is beautiful in the hills and quite but still less than 10mins to the beach by car. There is absolutely nothing to improve on this apartments, keep going! Thank you!

Beautiful place, very well maintained. Good breakfast, parking area, lovely scenery, pool and nice room.

On the second day of our stay a family gathering took place at the hotel. We felt quite unconfortable at the pool because of the fuss. We got offered a poncha and were then told to understand potugese familys. Ofcourse we understand, but we would have like to have to choice up ahead if we would be okay with it or not since we came for the quieteness. Instead of after booking and paying.
