Solar dos Reis by An Island Apart

Beautiful, quiet and relaxing place, surrounded by beautiful nature, with limited numbers of rooms available, allowed us to feel really exceptional. Lovely view and hospitality were beyond our expectations . Situated between mountains, but still overlooking the ocean, having everything you need to recharge. The host and staff were very friendly and helpfu,l reacting to all our needs. Swimming pool, even not very large, was very comfortable, with warm water, encouraging to have fun. Fully & truly recommended!

The breakfasts were very good and nicely served, however a bit more variety would make them even better, especially for longer stay. Maybe buffet with a few more ingridiens to chose from could be considered in the future.

This a picturesque property among the mountains and beautiful nature of Madeira. The property is very well-kept with great attention to detail. Danilo was an amazing and friendly host, and it clearly shows that he has a long experience in this industry and that he knows what he is doing. We had a very lovely conversation with him on the day of the check-out. Our studio apartment was very cosy, spacious and homey. The outside heated pool looks amazing, however, we did not have time to use it. The accommodation also had a parking space for each apartment.

It would be great if insect screens (nettings) are installed for all windows and doors to prevent flies, mosquitoes and other insects from coming. Breakfast is great and tasty but it does not change from day to day, and thus might become a bit boring for people staying for more than a couple of days. I would recommend having some changes such as in cold cuts and cheeses offered. It was a bit challenging to find the property on Google Maps due to some confusion with a property having the same name. Hosts mentioned that there are plans for a slight change in name which should solve the issue.

This place is a cosy and quiet little piece of heaven in the jungly mountains of Ribeira ! I really enjoyed staying there and felt like at home with the super friendly and flexible owners. The pool is really enjoyable and the bedroom has great quality furnitures. The breakfast style is enjoyable where we sit at a big wooden common table and get table served. I really recommend this place !

We never really understood the entrance gate code system, but thankfully we could always open it without for some reasons.......

The garden and the plants and that everything was new.

The location was a bit off. the rooms were a bit smaller than we expected and dark. The owner was very kind and nice and always helpful. we would have preferred breakfast in individual tables.

The location is a little way out of town meaning it’s a drive to get food.

I liked everything . It was one of the best places I stayed in. The surroundings are beautiful, though a bit remote so you need to have a car. It's peaceful and quiet there,very important.The swimming pool is great, heated and very well maintained. Rooms are modestly furnished but funcional. The staff is amazing. The gardener and a cleaner are doing great job. and the hosts are not only hosts but they are going an extra mile..Danilo and his wife are brilliant. Breakfast was tasty and I wasn't hungry after. we made good memories with other guests too. Thank you from Maja and Katrina.

One of our window didn't open, which made opening the shutters difficult In fairness, we forgot to mention it during our stay , because everything else was great.

ideally situated to visit whole Madeira. Very nice owners and accommodation.

matras is quiet hard. because the communication was through an external organisation we thought that it would be more a hotel feeling but that was really not the case : very warm welcome and stay!

Breakfast was always served on time. There was always a choice of fresh fruit. Location - quiet and peaceful, as we like
