Didn’t like they rang me 40 mins before arrival to say hot tub not working. The main reason we booked was for the hot tub so the long weekend turned into a short weekend
GBWe booked our weekend away last minute due to a bit of a stressful time recently and wanted to get away before the christmas stress to help us all relax and spend some quality time together as a family. I love the idea of the lockbox for they key as it makes it much easier check in process. The lodge itself was beautiful and the beds and sofas were very comfortable. There were a pack with washing up with a dishcloth and washing up liquid which was a great idea for hygiene. There were toilet rolls in each bathroom and beds for arrival but a big bonus was the heating was on ready for our arrival and unfortunately, the weekend we stayed, we experienced gale forced winds and rain and extremely cold so this made our arrival much more comfortable, and in fact became a little too warm later on but this made the lodge so comfortable and cozy and the weather had no impact on our weekend, except not as much hot tub use as we would have liked. The icing on the cake was the christmas tree that had been set up in the room, it was nice to sit in the room, relaxing with my family in a christmas setting not being stressed an overwhelmed thinking of everything i have to get sorted.....it was exactly what i needed, but also the family needed our time together just as much. We will definitely be back again :)
We were caught up in traffic on our journey to the lodge due to a major accident, unfortunately there was no way of contacting the reception to advise but they did contact us themselves to check so all worked out in the end. The check in reception is open until 7pm so may be worth while providing contact details after day reception closes at 5pm.

Lodge not cleaned properly or the hot tub. Guy appeared to clean the hot tub unannounced with no apology. Utensils and pots and pans not clean.

Could do with a very good clean as was full of cobwebs and spiders inside and out
