A real hidden gem , we really had a great time.The food was very good and they catered for all our needs .

central location, yet quiet almost hidden. Well-appointed room overlooking the lovely garden, comfy bed. Friendly hosts, breakfast made to order, all fresh ingredients. Plenty of hot water from the bathroom basin - see below.

The shower was extremely stiff to turn on, and although water heated up, it didn't stay warm even for a shower. Host will fix it. Parking area tricky to find. We relied on sat nav - MISTAKE! Should have checked the website, it's not obvious, but there's a picture of an entrance, parking area is behind that.

School House Cottage is situated in the best part of Hawkshead, near to shops, cafes and pubs. Some lovely walks and scenery nearby without having to use your car, a real bonus. Room was great with comfy bed and a view of the beautiful garden. We were able to enjoy a cuppa in the sunshine on the patio. Lots of choices at breakfast, fresh fruit, cereal and full English all made to order. Would definitely stay here again.

Fresh milk for tea and coffee in the room would be nice. Have stayed in B&Bs that have a fridge on the landing with small bottles for each room.

Told owners that my wife was laco tolerate and only has soya, they forgot and made mash with milk in it, if my wife had not asked she would have been very poorly. I was still charged the full price of £17 per person. Very high price. Matress is worn out and needs a matress topper to make the bed confurtatable.

over priced and evening meal to be fair we weren’t charged for it.
