We had a lovely time at School House Cottage. The room was clean, calm and cosy. Delicious breakfast served from a wide range of option, together with great tips for the region. We felt right at home and would love to return soon!

Our B & B was situated at the edge of the small village of Hawkshead where there are a few pubs/cafes, a fish & chip shop, and a small Co-op shop. Everything is within 3 minutes walk. School House Cottage was a lovely old house with garden seating, beautiful garden, There is a 'Pavillion room', a cabin where you can sit indoors if the night turns chilly. , very peaceful. We were made to feel welcome. Also on-site there was a cabin you could book with hot tub and BBQ area. Our ensuite (shower) room in the main house had a kettle/tea/coffee/biscuits...and even a packet of local chocolates. Bed linen was sumptuous. Owners gave info about the area/ferry.

We had parking at our B & B but parking in general in Hawkshead was limited. Food/drink was not reasonably priced n pubs. Approx £18 for Sunday lunch & £15 for a very thin pizza, £6.90 for a pint of strawberry cider.
