The Corner Rooms at The Black Horse Inn

The room was good and comfortable, well cleaned, the staff were excellent always asking if we need anything else.

to get to the rooms area we need to pass through an outside pub area with lots of people drinking. The stairs are very steep and if you have legs difficulties it will be a challenge.

Very clean and comfortable room. The pub was welcoming and conveniently located for Durham and surrounding area. Would definitely use again.

Lovely clean refreshed accommodation and staff very helpful

Very friendly staff, really comfy bed and pillows. Don’t eat before you go have a meal there, the food is home cooked and is OUTSTANDING!! Really generous portions I didn’t eat my chips so I could eat all of the chicken it was so tasty

Room 2 - The temperature of shower in the room was difficult to manage at first - it does have a sign warning about the temperature and it got really hot. Just be careful before getting in

How secure venue was and standard of room

Could have an option for breakfast if rooms wished for it in advance.

The pub was ideally located for our journey along the Camino Ingles from Finchale Priory to the Saxon Church at Escombe, The staff and locals were very friendly and welcoming.

Unfortunately the Grill restaurant ended service at 15:00 and we didn't arrive until 15:15 because of our walk, so we missed Lunch. We expected an all day service with it being Easter Sunday but sadly not. The other pub in the village also ended food service early as well, so we had to take an uber to the next town to the Wetherspoons there. Same again for Breakfast on the Monday as there were no breakfast facilities.

All very new and clean. Good to have off road parking.

Steep staircase to rooms and no breakfast but didn’t spoil our stay. Also pub happened to be closed for meals on the days we were there(Monday and Tuesday) but not a problem personally as we were visiting family but worth noting for others.
