"Very pleasant indeed."

The room was clean and well laid out. NO TV which I did not mind but some would. Breakfast was very basic and no hot food which made the price slightly expensive. Location excellent not in itself and for Durham.

"Peaceful and relaxing"

The history of the property and the chapels were magnificent. The gardens and woodland were beautiful .

No evening perhaps a disadvantage for some people. But the local pub offering a discount for stays at Ushaw was very good.

"Lovely stay in a beautiful location"

Beautiful location. Lovely large comfortable room.I particularly liked the walk-in shower.Also all members of staff I talked to were friendly, happy and very helpful. The beauty and the elegance of the chapels were stunning and the fact that tv is not available was another attraction- perfect for silence and complete solitude.

The cost of the bottled beers!

Everything! Very lovely, interesting old building. It was like staying in a museum! Very clean rooms and facilities all good. The gardens were also stunning

Very comfortable and quiet accommodation and incredibly helpful staff. Hall and gardens are beautiful. Very good nearby bus service if wanting to go into Durham.

"Wonderful and evocative place to stay!"

Wonderful old building, with huge amounts of history and character! So much to explore! Mega friendly staff, including some who helped us to our rooms when we arrived much later than expected. Breakfast was very nice, albeit a tad basic. Would definitely stay here again.

It was probably just me being a bit daft, but I couldn't work out how to make the shower hot, so I had to have a bracing cold shower in the morning!

the building was interesting and beautiful to walk around

The stay was over priced since it was like staying in a run down halls of residence. The shower kept flooding.
