Owl and the Pussycat Hotel & Restaurant

We stayed at Owl and the Pussycat Hotel for our honeymoon and my husband’s birthday, and it was such a wonderful experience. I wanted a quiet and beautiful place, and this hotel was exactly that. The whole property feels artistic and unique, and the rooms are so spacious. They even upgraded us to a gorgeous room with a balcony which made our stay feel even more special. The staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful people we have met. On my husband’s birthday morning they surprised us with a cake and gathered together to sing for him. It was such a heartfelt and beautiful moment that we will always remember. The location is also perfect with a few good places to eat nearby and turtles right in front of the beach. Everything about our stay felt warm and personal. We left with so many lovely memories and would love to return again. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a truly special getaway.

Our stay was pleasant from the moment we checked in till check out time. Nabil the hotel manager greeted us, let us know that he had upgraded us for free, and ran through local things to do and sights to see. My partner and I have fairly strict dietary requirements, so at our first meal our waiter, Isuru, spent 10 or so minutes asking what we could and couldn't eat and suggesting meal ideas for our entire stay. Because of the time taken, we had some of the best meals we had on our holiday at the hotel. We also received amazing service from Rizvi who was available at nearly all times to help with any requests.

I had an amazing stay at The Owl and the Pussycat Hotel. The atmosphere and design were truly unique, every corner felt like a piece of art. The room decor and furnishings were thoughtful, stylish, and full of personality. What really stood out was the incredibly attentive and caring staff always warm, always helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The seaside view, peaceful surroundings, and delicious breakfast added even more charm to the whole experience. Whether you’re looking for inspiration or pure relaxation, this place is a hidden gem on the coast. I’d absolutely love to come back.

Absolutely nothing!

They upgraded us to a 2 bed apartment as a group of 4 friends celebrating for the weekend. Beautiful setting right out to the ocean.

The breakfast, as it was the end of season, we weren’t told we had to pre order hoppers , hollandaise sauce was cold. It is the tropics but they do need a better way to present the “buffet” at breakfast as most stuff was covered in fruit fly. Again I understand a hazard of the location but we didn’t experience that anywhere else around Sri Lanka Also due to end of season no massage person, if they had to ask I’m sure we could have kept a spa person really busy so that was a shame but they did tell us were to go in town.

I think breakfast can be more various

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Owl and Pussycat Hotel, and I must say it exceeded my expectations in many ways. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making check-in smooth and hassle-free. The hotel staff were kind enough to surprise me with a room upgrade. The room was spacious, clean, and the views from the room were stunning offering both pool and sea views. The hotel also offered complimentary Wi-Fi, which was fast and reliable. What really stood out to me was the location. The hotel is situated in a prime area, close to local attractions, shopping, and dining options. Overall, the Owl and Pussycat Hotel offers excellent value for money, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The combination of great service, modern amenities, and a fantastic location made my stay memorable. I look forward to staying here again on my next visit to Sri Lanka.
