"Don’t judge the book by its cover! It looks really sketchy but it’s just a falling down adobe structure that’s waiting"

"We were disappointed with the quality and cleanliness of the hotel."

2.0

The hotel has an interesting history and is close to Death Valley

The staff is only there from 8 AM to 8 PM. No coffee is available before the staff arrives. The Hotel needs a major upgrade. Our room had plaster falling from the ceiling and paint peeling from the walls. The carpet throughout the hotel is stained and dirty. No TV, or comfortable chairs in the room. It operates like a hostel with a shared refrigerator, microwave, toaster etc available but it is priced as a hotel.

Le personnel est très sympa. A une heure de route de la vallée de la mort.

Bâtiment vieux de plus de 100 ans, et mas mis en valeur. Les murs se décrépite.

"Falling apart"

2.0

The front office staff was very nice. It was quiet at night.

This is the cheapest place to stay by far so come might say you get what you pay for, but I can't actually believe this property isn't condemned. The "this is a 100 year old property so it looks like this" is not an excuse. My house is 100 years old but doesn't have peeling paint, ceiling plaster hanging off the ceiling, plaster peeling away from the walls, stained dirty carpet and a hallway that smells like a$$. If price is your ONLY concern than stay here, I guess. We booked too late and this was all that was available. I wish this place would be restored as it's a really cool history and backstory. But it just has no business serving overnight guests

"Un opéra dans le désert"

6.0

"Interesting, unique, and wonderful."

7.0

This was my second time staying here. It’s such a unique place with an amazing history. You stay here to experience something unique and rare. My room was clean and comfortable, and I revisited the paintings and photos of Marta Becket. I drove to Shoshone for dinner and ate at the Crowbar Cafe-worth the drive!

The hallways had a weird smell. Probably old pipes. Not sure if anything can be done about it. My room smelled fine. It’d be nice to have the cafe back.
