Hill Cool Hotel & Restaurant

The owner and staff at Hill Cool went out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable! I was picked up from the train and even dropped off to my next location. I had a double room that was super comfortable, clean, with a nice balcony and view of the tea plantation behind the building. The buffet Sri Lankan breakfast is also amazing, it is 100% worth getting if you're on the fence. The restaurant is very popular especially for dinner and late at night so there can be some noise but it didn't bother me.

Keep in mind they add a 10% service charge to the full bill (hotel and any food) at the end of your stay which is not mentioned in the Booking.com fee.

I booked a bed in a dorm but the owner let me stay there by myself. The day after i got upgraded to a private room paying a little difference. He went the extra mile to make sure i was super comfortable all the time, helping me out with the wifi to attend an online class. They serve buffet breakfast included in the price, plus there is also buffet lunch for an honest price and a la carte dinner. The surroundings are peaceful with view on tea plantations and a little lake

The place is a bit out of town so you need to get a tuk tuk or bus to get there

The room was amazing, the breakfast and the food in the restaurant really good and many many options. All the staff were super friendly and helpful, especially the manager Yaso, super cool guy, helped us a lot with information and sort out cheap transport for us

The accommodation was beter than we could wish for. We are backpackers, on a budget, we stayed here to go the next day to Adam’s peak. We took the big room with the mezzanine and it was just what we needed! The host was very friendly, they even arrange free transportation to the hotel if needed. The staff were very friendly, even tho we are not the easiest to please. The room was a bit cold, but on demand you can receive a heater. And above all that, the room was not overpriced!

Value for money and they have a good restaurant with a wide variety of food.

The atmosphere is very noisy. The restaurant is manly for the outside customers and so the place is always crowded and loud music is played through out the day.
