"A gem in Virginia horse country!"

10.0

L’Auberge is elegant, charming, beautiful…a real gem! Surrounding countryside exactly what we had imagined—rolling hills, horse country.

"A lovely country get-away"

10.0

We had a wonderful mid-week stay at L’Auberge Provencale. We had stayed there more than 20 years ago, and we loved it then and loved our recent stay as well. We stayed in the Monet room in the main house, which was cozy and charming (it is on the second floor with no elevator so take note of that if you have a lot of heavy luggage!). It had a firepace and small but well-appointed bathroom, and for one night, it was perfect. We had the prix fixe dinner which was 4 courses + dessert - it was amazing and ranks right up there in qualify and innovation with any fancy restaurant in Washington DC. We ate every bite, and service was very attentive. After dinner, it was fun to just walk upstairs to our room as if we actually lived there. The night before we chose our breakfast selections (there are 5 different options to choose from, and homemade croissants and scones accompany all of the options) - the food was exquisite and served in the lovely sunroom of the restaurant. We would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get break from work, kids, the city hustle and bustle - it's a short drive to Shenandoah National Park.

We had a lovely overnight stay in one of the Villas. It was very quiet and the room was well equipped with everything you needed. Our breakfast back at the main house was delicious and we are already thinking about returning in the spring when we will stay for dinner at the L'Auberge rather than going elsewhere.

"Lovely October Visit"

10.0

We had a lovely mid-week 2 nights at this inn for a fall getaway to the Shenandoah. We stayed in the Louis IX Suite in the villa. We enjoyed the peace of being separate from the main inn. The room was spacious, with a good quality mattress. We appreciated the tray of treats, filled ice bucket, and water bottles in the room each day. Dinner in the restaurant was fabulous…delicious and innovative food, perfect cocktails, attentive, friendly service. Breakfast our first day was a miss. A group of 13 threw off their timing, so our food was significantly delayed, with one plate eventually arriving cold, and the poor (only) server running nonstop. The second day made up for it with terrific food, served promptly…try the quiche! One recommendation would be to offer free WiFi. A $10/day charge seemed unusual for most any nicer inn or hotel these days and unnecessary given the prices.

Nice atmosphere & grounds. Rooms were spacious & comfortable, but cleanliness could have been better. Liked the restaurant on premise. Breakfast was just ok.

Maintenance of room was lacking. Staff could have been better.

"A NOVA escape to the "French" countryside!"

10.0

We had a wonderful visit at L’Auberge Provencale. We had stayed there 18 years ago and were so happy to see that all the good things we loved about it (the rooms, the service, the food at the restaurant, the room amenities) have remained excellent. The Inn is well located in the beautiful, quiet countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of NOVA. Our room had classic furnishings but with modern comfort. Our favorites were the fireplace, the private patio with incredible views, and the in-room steam shower. Dinner was absolutely fabulous, classy without trying to be trendy or pretentious - our plates were cleaned! The bar at the restaurant is “new” since we’ve last visited, and was a beautiful addition. We had great craft cocktails and got to listen to an amazing local jazz trio. If you’re looking for a romantic, easy getaway in NOVA, book a room here, you will not be disappointed!
