Adequate sleeping space and storage and friendly staff.

Not being able to get into the building at the time promised. We experienced a 3 hr delay but the owner/manager acted swiftly and refunded us £30 as a goodwill gesture. The bath fixings did not work properly and the sealant was coming away from the wall. The additional care to cover the exposed pipes to the shower would have made a difference. The TV did not work but we did not query it at the time because we didn't really use it.

Good stay in familyroom, with a well-sized clean bathroom.

We would have loved the option for dinner or breakfast.

Thought the location was ideal for our alton towers trip and the room was suitable for a short stay

We had a fan in one room but not the other and the bar staff member on was not friendly at all

Location was not far from Churnet Valley Railway. Room was large and clean with tea/coffee making facilities. The lady behind the bar called Tracey was most helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much bother for her.

Unfortunately no food available.

Breakfast we had at small cafe was very nice

When we came out of Alton Towers, there was nowhere local to eat

Room not clean, plug sockets didn't work, wash basin didn't drain properly and bathroom door handle fell off door didn't shut properly

The room was the perfect base for the night. Location was great for the manifold way, and thors cave. Nice to be able to have a couple drinks before bed without having to worry about driving, shame there wasn't food at the time we stayed.

Mattress firmness is a preference, but the bed was very soft, if they get replaced I'd suggest something more in the middle. I ignored the other reviews about the noise as the room is above a pub (what do you expect) but it's definitely worth noting as the volume remained past midnight.

A lovely country pub/hotel with very helpful and kind staff. Access to the room was straightforward with great communication.

Only a couple of niggles which were sorted easily by the staff (batteries for tv remote and loose handle on back of bathroom door). Sorted quickly too.
