Ty Daisy, Gilwern

Very clean right through the property. A bottle of wine on arrival and a pack of Welsh cakes- nice touch. Lovely clean bedding and close proximity to the canal for walks-very lovely.

It would have been nice to have normal TV not streaming through apps. however, this was not a problem to us

Ty Daisy is neat and well cared for, tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you need with a few little extras thrown in. Fay and Chris are lovely hosts who respond quickly to messages. We found it an ideal base to explore the area. It’s a short drive from the shops, cafes and train at Abergavenny and the quality eating places of quaint Crickhowell, particularly The Bear Hotel. Other destinations like The Big Pit Mine, the Brecon Mountain Railway and the Brecon Beacons are an easy drive away on the excellent Heads of the Valley Road.

The house is beautiful, stylish, and very cozy. Everything was clean and well-maintained, which made for a pleasant stay.

The oven needed a good clean. The shower was slow to drain. Access to the patio is a bit convoluted.

The location was great - right in the middle of the village with a very short walk to three pubs (two dog friendly, two that provide food) and a chip shop. The canal was literally at the end off the road - and great for long, easy dog walks. We walked back into Abergavenny on one of the days - a lovely walk. The house was warm, clean and comfortable - with a quirky second bathroom at the top of a small flight of stone stairs. Decorated beautifully with modern fixtures.

There were just a few items missing that would have made the facilities better. A coffee pot (french press - or similar), more mirrors in the bedrooms to be able to dry your hair. Less things stored in the drawer units so clothes can be unpacked and put away properly - and an outside table and chairs on the small patio would have very much been appreciated so the view could be enjoyed (maybe this was just missing because its still early in the season) - all very small things - and nothing that spoiled our enjoyment of the weekend.

Two bathrooms. Sofa was comfy. I liked the TV and light set up. Kitchen and bedroom were very spacious.

The step into the living room from the kitchen could do with a warning sign / similar for those unfamiliar with the property.

Location, how everything felt homely. Whole house was clean and tidy.
