Ty Daisy, Gilwern

Spacious, clean, nice bedrooms, everything for the kitchen provided ( glasses mugs cutlery plates etc), we got a bottle of prosecco ham eggs milk and sausages as a “welcome gift” which was very nice and thank you! Very cosy and warm. Also, very good communication with the landlady.

The pipes were quite noisy :( I am a light sleeper so couldn’t sleep very well

Well equiped kitchen. Downstairs toilet and shower room as well as upstairs bathroom. Complementary milk, bubbly, sauages and bacon. Within walking distance of High St. 10% off at Butchers owned by host. Blown away by the friendliness of evryone. Have already made another booking. Magical waling on the Black Mountains in a tempreture inversion - which meant that I got above the clouds. See video.

We decided to spend Christmas in Wales as a family, somewhere where we could easily get to the mountains. We found Ty Daisy in Gilwern, near Abervegenny which turned out to be a real gem. The kitchen is very well equipped and large which was incredibly helpful as we were late booking Christmas dinner so had to cook. Very comfortable and well laid out house. Modernly furnished and exceptionally clean. The owners Fay and Chris are super hospitable and very nice people, sociable and helpful. We found lots of free stuff, champagne, biscuits, sausages, bacon, eggs. Really great place and we will definitely be back. I highly recommend it wholeheartedly.

The only down side was there was a dog smell in the living room kitchen.

Very comfortable cottage. The host provided a bottle of bubbly, bacon, eggs and milk which was greatly appreciated after a day of hiking. Great location to access surrounding hikes, we did Sugar Loaf on first day and then 4 waterfalls trail on the 2nd day, which is about 50 min away. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped to cook own meals and there are 2 bathrooms (VERY fluffy towels!), which is very convenient when travelling with children. There is free parking at the back of the house. We thought this was excellent value for money too compared to other properties in the same area!

A cozy cottage with an amazing host! My little puppy had a great time too, and we all enjoyed a truly special family getaway. The host was incredibly thoughtful, making sure all our needs were met, including stocking the fridge with plenty of vegetarian breakfast options since we don't eat meat. By the end of November, the cottage was beautifully lit up, and we were already feeling the holiday spirit. My son especially loved it! The location was perfect for a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Highly recommended!

The shower's hot water was a bit tricky to adjust—finding the right balance between too hot and too cold took some effort. Parking was also challenging, as the road was narrow and inclined, with limited space for a full-size car. Additionally, parallel parking in a tight spot was required.

was a lovely house with everything that you needed,host was there to help,there was towels,tea coffee,eggs,bacon,milk,ect,did'nt need to bring half the stuff that we took with us.

wifi played up a bit but did'nt spoil our stay
