The Weigh Office at Cliburn Station

Unique and beautiful little property in a wonderfully quiet location. It's great if you have a dog or just like a walk through the Forest as there is an entrance a short walk away.

The only thing I can fault was there was no enclosed space for my dog to go, that being said when I popped his harness on there is an area outside the property or the short walk to the Forest.

Beautiful quirky little place with some lovely craftsmanship touches throughout in a fantastic location. gavin and Wendy were really welcoming and helpful wil definitely be returning. Thank you for having us my wife really enjoyed her birthday getaway.

It’s gorgeous. Quaint, idyllic & peaceful. It’s comfy cosy, has everything you need. I travelled with my 3 year old to stay here. First arrived and checked in easily as an email was sent prior with all the information- everything was lovely and clean, all kitchen equipment you could need including cleaning products, towels etc. Wendy came to see us after we arrived & told us where to find her if we needed anything as she’d likely have anything we’d forgotten or might run out off. Private patio was lovely, we had a BBQ the first night. Stunning views- particularly enjoyed looking out with a cup of tea in the decking! Plenty of space for my 3 year old to play safely too. Inside was so cosy & comfy. Perfect to get comfy in front of the fire. There was a selection of DVDs for us to watch - we popped out to get some family films from the charity shops & left them there to add to collection- to entertain my daughter, but the WiFi is brilliant to watch shows on your own devices ect. Location wise we were about 10-15 mins from the centre of Penrith with supermarkets, restaurants and the castle. It was an easy drive. We were also about 30mins ish to Keswick & 1hr from Windermere/Ambleside/Hawkeshead. All easily accessible. We had a wonderful holiday and coming home from a busy day to this gorgeous place to relax really made it. Watching the sunset & the horses graze was lovely. Waking up in the morning to open the window by the bed to spot the bunnies too. And unforgettable experience!

Lovely little home from home. Beautiful surroundings and welcoming hosts!

A really lovely little place to stay. The location is really good to get out and about to explore and the owners are really friendly and put some really lovely touches. There was everything we needed, towels for the dogs, DVDs supplied for the DVD player, all kitchen facilities that are needed and they’ve really made good use of the space.

Nothing to not like, the only things I would note is that the decking area isn’t fully enclosed and so something to be mindful of if bringing dogs. The property also isn’t secluded so you will have people around for the horses and staying in the other properties or campsite on the land.
