Not many options for vegans

All the staff members were friendly and helpful. Anita, who served our table during the meals, was quite attentive and we truly enjoyed conversations with her. We also bought “Oishi” chips at a supermarket afterwards upon her recommendation. The dishes, directed by the chief chef, Sumo, were so good that they are one of the highlights. Activities such as cave tour, kayaking and squid fishing were great fun but the toy football game on the 1st floor was a big hit for our child too. All in all, it was a pretty satisfying event.

Stop searching the hundreds of Ha Long Bay cruises and BOOK THIS ONE! I promise, it’s absolutely amazing. The ship was fantastic, lots of amenities to keep a family entertained: virtual golf, cooking classes, fishing. The excursions were top notch: every detail was thought out and we were taken care of so well. The staff was incredible. Any little thing we needed was immediately done. I was cold and had only brought a thin jacket and the cruise director Jade literally gave me his jacket to wear! Our server Hong was lovely, she made sure to get the kids involved with all the dinner events. They had a magician going around to the dinner tables each night. If it’s in the budget, definitely do two nights instead of one.

The welcome lunch was amazing - with wide variety of dishes. The room was big, very quiet and the bed was the most comfortable bed in this side of the country (and we stayed in quite a few 5 star resorts). Our dedicated server was extraordinarily attentive - getting me food and cutting them up / peeling prawns for me etc when I was holding a sleeping baby. The cruise ship had assigned someone who knew a bit of our native language as well. My toddlers enjoyed the kids club area. Plus there was a magician at dinner! The infinity pool was nice and had lovely views of the sunset. The excursions were held after and before day trippers had left so the destinations weren’t crowded. The waiting lounge at the port was air conditioned, very comfortable and restrooms were clean.

One of our suitcases went missing for a while as the luggage tag had fallen off, but they knew exactly what it was once I called them about it and delivered it to my room in less than 5 minutes. Not the ship’s fault, but the cigarette smokers ruined the outdoor areas a bit. I went on a cruise to get fresh air not polluted air!
