The Sand Hill Inn

Location is great and access to the restaurant/bar next door was awesome.

There was a big hole in the wall by the jacuzzi and what appeared to be a towel hook was laying on the floor beneath it. No ice available. I wish they offered at least coffee and bakery for purchase as the room coffee was not good.

The property is in a beautiful location. It’s enough away from lake Geneva that it’s peaceful and close enough to go for dinner or the beach. The room itself is lovely and the loft space is just gorgeous. The lake side units were wonderful to sit and drink coffee in front of in the mornings. The manager was good about giving arrival information and what spots close by would be good bets for dinner or breakfast.

It’s expensive. Even for a smaller boutique inn. The carpet was gross and I didn’t love walking on it barefoot. We couldn’t get the fireplace to turn off in the room and messaged the property owner through booking but got no response. There was also damage to the room that was left in disrepair when we got there. Someone had either pulled or knocked a towel hook off the wall by the jacuzzi tub and it had a large hole in the wall. It would have been nice to have had that not be exposed or left in that way.

The view from the balcony of the lake was beautiful! Bed was clean.

There was no staff onsite. The room was not clean, mold in bathroom, musty smell in room, dirty carpets. Light fixture was taken out of the wall and on the floor, leaving a hole in the wall.
