Bukit Samudra

Truly exceptional. Beautiful views. The concept of "open" rooms where you can hear the sound of the ocean and the nature is so unique. It might not be for everyone, but for us it was really amazing, we planned to stay just 1 night but had to extend it to 2 nights. The restaurant is phenomenal. Thank you so much and we will be back when we come to western Sumbawa again. Just wow!

We feel incredibly fortunate to have discovered this gem! Julien and his team have truly set a new standard for hospitality, quality, and culinary excellence in western Sumbawa. While we're not surfers and didn't come for the nearby breaks, we were eager to explore the region and its people. Julien's insightful recommendations were invaluable in planning our three-day stay at Bukit Samudra. Initially, we considered trying local warungs, but our first dinner at the resort's restaurant quickly changed our minds. The delicious food, reasonable prices, and friendly service were exceptional. Our bungalow was absolutely perfect – beautifully designed with everything we needed. It was impeccably clean, with a comfortable mattress, a great shower, and a relaxing lounge area. Honestly, it's one of the best bungalows I've ever stayed in. The outdoor shower was so refreshing that we didn't even miss having a pool. Plus, the beach is just a short five-minute walk away. Overall, it's a perfect 10/10. Thank you!

Perfect location near all the surf spots & beautiful views throughout the property. The actual rooms are nice and clean, great shower too! No AC, but ceiling fan helped with keeping us cool. The rooms are more of an "open air" type style. Definitely suggest wearing bug spray even with the bug nets. There is a nice outdoor shower as well to rinse sand off after surfing/the beach. The restaurant was great, staff was friendly, and the owner Julien was awesome! He was super helpful & present throughout our stay if we needed anything. He helped us arrange shuttles & had a motorbike waiting for us when we got there! Would definitely recommend this place, we did not want to leave!

Everything was great!

The views are amazing. The people who work there are super kind, especially Risa,the housekeeping girl super chatty,polite, and lovely. The outside shower is great, and it is super handy to have your own water at the terrace. The dogs and the cat are the best from our stay.

When it rains, at least our room gets flooded, and you get wet while you are sleeping. The internet did not work the entire time we were there, so sadly, we left one day before.THankfully, they didn't hesitate, and they refunded the night.

The view on the property was amazing, overlooking the bay and the hills on the headland. The food was delicious and staff was super friendly. We enjoyed the vicinity, and it was easy to get to there by car. I loved the gardening, with the flower bushes and trees all around. The rooms were nicely designed with neat bathrooms and hot showers. We loved that each room has its own water machine with cold and hot water. A nice and tranquil atmosphere which made us feel comfortable.

We loved the open air style of the rooms - but It was near impossible to keep the quite aggressive mosquitoes out the bed area at night, despite there being a net. Perhaps this could get considered during rain season with a more enclosed net - and a stronger fan could be good for the heat. The noise from the cattle bells and some dog barks at night was also bit of a concern while trying to fight the mosquitoes. I’m sure these things are already something the property will improve on, as it’s quite new to the area.

Be aware that the rooms are open and you are only protected from mosquitos by a net. The room itself is unbearable hot during daytime and still around 30 degrees during nighttime. The architectural "breezy" concept with louvre style walls, but without AC doesn't work at all (at least not during wet season), but therefore, you feel like sharing the room with your neighbours. Also, the near passing road is very loud... Food in the restaurant was good, staff and management, therefore not attentive at all...The only place around with no pool, btw. I'm glad we only booked for one night.

fantastic accommodation, brand new spacious cabins with drinkable water fountain on each balcony. All of them also have beautiful view. Restaurant next to it is also very good.

Staff is extremely nice, but since the whole place is still new, they still needs to learn the service a bit better (restaurant and cabin staff) - but those are rather small details, no major issues
